whats Mr Hockey gotta do to get any love?
Probably the closest of the all time scoring greats in all round game to OV
RK | PLAYER | G |
1 | Wayne Gretzky | 894 |
2 | Gordie Howe | 801 |
3 | Jaromir Jagr | 766 |
4 | Brett Hull | 741 |
5 | Marcel Dionne | 731 |
6 | ALEX OVECHKIN | 717 |
Phil Esposito | 717 |
Looks like this thread went into quarantine around the time COVID hit, but you can't spell COVID with OV!!! wait.... nevermind.
Ovechkin ties Esposito for #6 and needs 15 goals to pass Dionne and join the Top 5. With 28 games to go, seems like there is a good chance we'll see that by year's end. He has an outside chance of catching Hull this season, but seems unlikely.

If he finished the year around 734, he'd need to average 32 goals a season for the next 5 years to catch #99. Tough task, but tantalizingly possible.
Two of the great all time Capitols!
Empty netter, of courseOV just tied Jagr for 3rd place in career goals.
Empty netter, of course
Russian Machine Never Breaks.I no longer wonder if he has the ability to get Gretzky's record. It's purely health. If he stays healthy, he's going to get to 900 goals. Man it's been fucking awesome getting to watch this guy for almost two decades now.

I didn't know he had over 300 PP goals but he does have the most ever I thought. Most people don't know this, but 397 of his goals have been empty netters and another 304 on the power play, leaving only 65 goals he has scored five on five. Sad!
Honestly, that's awesome.

Seriously to this day I wonder the disappointment she has, along with her parents knowing she tried to blackmail a guy who lost all his money to gambling and doesn't give two shits.Clearly he still has the moves of Jagr.
