The Yanks are high if they don't let Nestor keep going.

Bob Costas just said the Yankees haven't been to the World Series since 2009 and haven't won it since 2000.

I guess he forgot about Matsui and the win over the Phillies

LOL who didnt see this coming.

Civale immediately did not have it.

Just throw your best bullets not some fucking schlub.
Civale - a guy that relies on control- walking the first batter was disaster.

IT was a great season and they have a lot to build on.

New minority owner that tried to first buy the Broncos who will likely become majority owner on a time table is a good thing in that they might spend some more money- esp. now that they have proved they are "ready".

Not sure what I want the Guardians to target though.

catcher, and a right-handed hitting 1B/DH to share the role with Naylor are prob. the only real 2 places- they should get plenty of other improvement from guys developing.

Steven Kwan- what an absolute stud.

I mean- they could use a power hitting outfielder---- maybe get rid of Straw- play Kwan in center, Gonzalez in right, and find a left fielder?

Bullpen is fine. They are not going to spend a ton of money on a SP when they have the guys they have. Maybe a trade for a starting pitcher?

The only position they really need is a 1B/DH to share with Naylor- maybe a catcher to split the job with Bo Naylor.....maybe a starting pitcher....maybe a left fielder.....

In the grand scheme of things- not sure you can win with Straw, KWan, Gonzalez--- that might just be too little power- but its awful good defense and good contact hitting.

no doubt they need a good 1B/DH that hits right handed. Do they believe in Bo Naylor enough not to go get a catcher? Would it be wasting Bo Naylor if they also traded for a guy like Sean Murphy?

-the one big move they can possibly make is using some of their trade assets to get a starting pitcher.

What it looks like next year?

C- Bo Naylor (do they resign Hedges to split with him?- trade for Sean Murphy?)- NEED
1B- Josh Naylor- another year his ankle should be better- GOOD
2B-Gimenez- GOOD
3B- Jose- GOOD
SS- Rosario/Arias- GOOD
LF- Kwan- GOOD
CF- Straw- upgrade? move Kwan to center and get a power bat in LF?- NEED
RF- Oscar Gonzalez- FINE

Bullpen- good to go

SP
1. Bieber- good
2. McKenzie- good

3.4.5- Quintrell, Civale, Plesac, Morris---? Make a trade for a solid 3 that you feel good in a playoff series??

their is not a gaping need beside a 1B/DH.....can upgrade catcher, left field, 3rd starter.

helluva season for the youngest team in baseball.

they rebuilt on the fly, won a playoff series, and pushed a team with 3x their payroll to 5 games in the next.

identified a ton of good talent that will be part of the core of the team for years to come. Still have a ton of their best prospects yet to play.

The Plusses:

-I think Naylor took a big step forward this year and should just get better- esp. with some more time for that ankle injury that was a career threatening injury.

-Gimeinez did not have a good playoffs- but he started the All Star game at 2b, should win a gold glove and is a core guy going forward.

-McKenzie went from a guy with a high ceiling and talent to actually putting that talent into solid play. He should continue to improve and give the Guardo's a good #2 starter- and on some days #1 type stuff

-Kwan- no one has been more impressive out of the young guys. He has established himself as a top tier leadoff hitter. He should grow into some more power. Great guy, great defense, takes pitches, doesnt strike out.... not your typical AS profile but he could get there.

-Clase- established himself as either one of the best, or the best closer in the game

-Karinchak, Stephen, Sandlin, Hentges, Morgan- form a cheap, controllable, young very good bullpen that will all be back togethre next year.

-Oscar G.- while I dont know if he is your protypical RF- he came up huge so many times. A good kid.

All the experience they gained, the guys they developed.....great season. So much fun. Lets come back improved next year and see if guys like Espino, Williams, Valera, Rocchio , Bo Naylor, Arias, are ready to help- and maybe add a couple pieces.

Not including the dodgers, are there 2 more despised teams in MLB right now other than the yankees and astros?

Hopefully the padres win the NLCS, and then go on to win the WS over one of those 2.
It would be their 1st title...while the phils, yanks & *astros have all won WS titles.

Egh, I’d be willing to put all my Vcash on Chicago winning the division next year.
yah they will def. be the favorites.

The guardians did not make any moves in the offseason since they knew it would be a rebuilding year with all the young guys--- lets see if now that they know the team has potential if they make any moves to shore up some of the weak spots.

If they do nothing this offseason it will be a major disappointment.
