Its a bullshit stat that has no value. My whip is high but my ERA is low, that means I'm not giving up any runs. Last I heard runs are what counts in baseball not how many walks and hits I give up. ERA covers it so we can shitcan whip.

ERA is more of a starters stat, created at a time when starters were expected to go the distance. For middle relievers that come in in high leverage spots ERA is meaningless. Imagine a guy comes in with two outs and the bases loaded. He hits the first guy then gives up a single before getting the third out. The other team scores 3 runs, all of which are charged to the previous pitcher so his ERA actually improves a little even though he totally shit the bed. But his WHIP goes up.

Monday's scheduled ALDS Game 5 between the Guardians and Yankees has been delayed due to inclement weather.​

The good news is that the game has not been postponed. There is a string of rain headed right toward Yankee Stadium, but that front should eventually clear out after maybe an hour or two. Per the Yankees, the forecast will be reassessed by all parties involved around 7:00 p.m. ET. First pitch had been slated for 7:07 p.m. ET in the Bronx.
