Yet another completely idiotic and baffling manager decision.

Let bring in your starter, who doesnt come into games mid inning(or game at all) who just pitched a couple days ago, to face a guy who absolutely feasts on lefties.

I was cussing them out when they brought in Robbie Ray... The Astros have destroyed him this year...

Yep Ray sucks. That’s a fireable offense

Ill just never understand why these managers do what they do in the playoffs. Do what go you here.

Brought in his best arm early up 4. So he was burnt. Then goes to a starter who wasnt even a good match up.
Servais has done that at times throughout the season. He doesn't have a feel for high pressure situations on the mound.

Servais should have never gone to Robbie Ray, he’s toast, he’s batting practice lately… we all saw that coming, heart breaker

Is there any good matchup against Alvarez?

Just stick with the closer, he’s been solid all year, let him get it
Sewald would have lost it as well, if he pitched to Alvarez, and probably even if he walked him. Best case was to bring Munoz (who wasn't exactly sharp in the 8th) back out for the 9th and have Sewald ready.
The fact that he brought Ray in for Lefty-Lefty and Yordan hit .320 off of lefties this year AND Ray is a HR-Pinata makes me think he didn't know the numbers and just assumed Lefty-Lefty was the right thing.

It's even worse than that. Ray throws a shit ton of fastballs. Alvarez was 2nd best hitter in baseball on fast balls.

And Ray has sucked his last 5 starts plus post season. And pitched Saturday(poorly) and never comes out in relief.

Sadly, appears he didnt know anything on the situation. Real bummer.

The first fastball he just missed, so I guess he wanted to give him another chance......the whole scenario had disaster written all over it......I felt it coming before it even happened.....God I hate the Astros......
