I can agree not why we lost and he had an overall really good series.

But teams need their all star shooting guard to be able to shoot outside the paint (and from 3) and once round 1 ends this is something Mitchell for whatever reason cannot do going back to Utah days. No idea why.

I think he needs more of a pure playmaker next to him, a real distributing PG. Maybe that's the move if they trade Garland?

It's football so, sure, I'll be excited for the start of NFL season. Not quite like last year, though

Honestly, I really don't get why so many want to make excuses for Mitchell. Was Conley not a pure playmaker (never mind DG while he can score is a true PG)? I swear nearly every time he missed a shot or turned it over (and it happened a lot) even the announcer wanted to make excuses for him.

IF they traded DG would think would only do with prime target of a wing. But I'm guessing they wont overreact and trade the all star PG who is 2-3 years from his prime seasons.

Is 6.7 assists per game enough to call someone a true PG? I think they're both combo guards. You can win with that, just looking for what the Cavs lacked in this series.

When you play with a combo guard who has the ball a lot? Yeah....6.7 apg can be a true PG and is a good number.

The Cavs lacked shooting in this series (Mitchell a major culprit of that) and for whatever reason went away often from what was working.....getting ball to the bigs (seems DG better at doing that than DM was/is).

And, yes, DG had a really bad shooting series, too.....but he took 80 less shots than Mitchell.

Shooting in general was down in the playoffs. Tends to happen when the league abruptly stops blowing the whistle and the pressure is on a lot of guys that don't deal with it well.

I'm not saying Mitchell is without blame. I just think he's less likely to be moved.

There is no way Mitchell goes anywhere unless he goes berserker mode

Yeah they’re gonna try to move Okoro

He’s a good player but he’s expensive for their current tax situation

I would not trade anyone. I think this is just the journey for a team- its not like the Cavs are have been a perennial power house without LeBron. Make some changes at the edges and run it back. Boston is going to have Tatum and salary cap issues. No one else in the East is anywhere near unbeatable.

Hope you get some growth- Garland and Mobley will have another year to move towards their primes and hopefully keep getting better.

Blowing it up would be a short-sighted reaction. At this time last year a lot of people were extolling the Cavs to trade Garland for a song.

Its hard to win championships. This team is signed up for a long time. Mobley taking the next step- and getting some decent injury luck could be all it takes.
They don’t really have any choice. They’re a 2nd apron team. They can’t aggregate players in trades like the one I presented.
