How many times has Bama and Georgia had a regular season game scheduled in the past decade?
Are they really in the same conference?
I believe the answer is 1 (2015). This is why I don't like more than 10 teams in a conference. They could play a round robin schedule....well, hell, they could, but the 9-game conference schedule is something that apparently is frowned upon in the SEC.

The amount of years ahead of time most of these games are scheduled, it can be a crapshoot.

Hell. Some of these games are being scheduled 9+ years out.

9 years ago, Clemson would have been a good (potentially) ooc, but not great. Now, they're back and forth with Bama as the best in the country.

True, but closer in I think you get a pretty good idea. Scheduling Clemson 6-7 years ago like this Ala-Wisc tilt would have got you a top 10 team either year...and would have you playing a better team now. I don't expect Alabama or Wisconsin to fall off a cliff in the next half dozen years.

Definitely hard to see either fall off, but you never know

That is correct.

1 Regular Season Game between Alabama and Georgia in the past decade (10 years). Fortunately, they have played 3 other important games during that span in the SEC CG (2012 / 2018) and CFB Playoff CG (Jan. 2018).

FWIW, Saban supports a 9 game SEC Schedule. The rest of the Conference, not so much. Doesn't really matter much though, as Alabama hasn't lost to an SEC East Team since 2010 (@ South Carolina).

Georgia finally plays @ Alabama again in 2020!

So Notre Dame doesn’t count? It’s also more recent than Alabama’s last credible home and home. Alabama also sometimes only plays one decent opponent in OOC. Last year and this year it is none.
None the next two years either. I know...they can't help it USC and Miami both suck

All I see is Wisconsin and Oklahoma. And by the time they'll play the Sooners half of us will be dead.
If USF makes a comeback they'll have some decent schedules

I think bama's playing at USF just to troll UCF

We're even going to fly into Orlando and bus to Tampa, while passing UCF's stadium with our motorcade.

...after the game we are going to stop by Things Remembered and get us an AAC Championship trophy.

I know you're teasing, but USF is willing to do what it takes to schedule the big boys (2 for 1s). UCF isn't, so they end up slumming with CFB powers like UNC and Pitt.

Lord have mercy! They are both GREAT teams to schedule a home and home with. Me thinks some people are way too picky.

If PSU was just “okay” in 2010, what does that say about B1G cochamp MSU?

Hint:

Bama 24 PSU 3 at Bama
Bama 49 MSU 7 at neutral site

Has Alabama changed it's OOC scheduling philosophy since they realized that Saban won't be there in a couple of years??

So since 2009 (ten seasons) they have played one regular scheduled game. Its been five seasons since Bama had a regular scheduled game against Florida and don't have one till 2021. So another team they schedule once every 7 or 8 years.
Imagine Ohio State and Michigan not having to play Penn State and Wisconsin but once every 7-8 seasons and instead give all four extra games against Chattanooga and Citadel (don't include Appy St.lol). How many times have these teams knocked each other out of serious New years Bowl games or been one loss away from serious contention but had to actually play conference teams? How many more BCS games would have been won or at least attended.

Since the SEC went to Division play in 1990, Alabama and Georgia have played 9 regular season games.
