Alabama lost because of playcalling

Finally watched DVR of last night's game.

They abandoned the running game and got pass-happy way too early. If they'd stuck with the power running game in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, they would have kept their defense off the field and the ball out of Wright's hands. And they would have avoided playing into the strength of Oklahoma's defense.

I've seen Wisconsin lose too many games the same way.

Also, other than OU's QB this was a poorly played football game. More sloppy defense and bad tackling than great offense. That is all.

I agree Doug Nussmeir needs to get the thought of us being a passing team out of his head. We are a run first play action pass team. He has these games where he tries to make us an all star passing team we are simply not that.

This is exactly my point. It's hard to sack him before he hands off to Yeldon or Henry. And OU's defense is built to shut down spread offenses.

Bama lost because Oklahoma executed and Bama didn't.

Knight was throwing laser beams and Bama played hard, but not well. Oklahoma made their plays while Bama fumbled theirs away.

Oklahoma was the better team last night.

Bama is not a team that's built for a shootout. They should have slowed the game down in the 1st half by sticking with the run. Instead they tried to keep up with Oklahoma, and they lost.
