I am giving the Yanks 1 spot. Don't see them losing the top spot much less both.

Twins, Angels and Os playing the best right now. Mariners, Rangers, Royals and Rays all still right in it.

Twins have the "easiest" schedule record wise.

Who takes it in the battle of the least flawed?

I'll give it to the Royals

They are the one team I'm confident can go on a total September tear

Baltimore will have to play Boston and NY too many times, in games they will both need

I think teams like the Twins and Angels will start to feel the pressure, and realize they aren't that good

KC and minny have easiest path they play 4 contenders (KC) and 5 (Minny) they play each other for 2 series in next 2 weeks
TB has hardest road 8 contenders in 9 series

With everybody having about 30 games left, I think that with this many teams in the race that you don't want to fall more than 3 or 4 games back. Otherwise you start needing to jump over too many teams and needing too many bounces to go your way.

So KC, Seattle, and Tampa Bay are all in danger of falling too far behind now.

My guess: it comes down to game #163--Twins vs. Angels at Target Field. Trout was injured for the regular season meetings, which the Twins won 5-2.

Tampa has the White Sox this weekend, but after that they have 6 games against Boston, 6 against New York, 7 against Baltimore, 3 against Minnesota, and 2 against the Cubs. I think Tampa is done.
