If Judge maintains his 199 OPS+, it would be the highest full season OPS+ since Barry in 2004. Soto had a 217 OPS+ in 2020 but that was a shortened season. Trout had a 198 OPS+ in 2018. The only hitter in the AL remotely close to Judge is Yordan Alvarez (190 OPS+), but he's got over 80 fewer plate appearances and he's mostly a DH, whereas Judge has played CF and RF (and he is a very good right fielder). Ohtani is also the closest player to him in WAR (5.7), but he's a full win behind Judge (6.7).

Seems like a no brainer for AL MVP right now.

So which one do think is getting it Alvarez or Ohtani?

Probably Ohtani. I wouldn't be too surprised if Alvarez finishes with a higher OPS+ than Judge but even if that's the case, Judge's counting stats might give him in the edge for the more traditional voters.

I love Vavra's profile. Not a lot of pop but can play 2B/SS/CF and he looks like he can be a good OBP guy.

This needed to be Holmes last game as closer. Trying to win a world series so you can't keep throwing out this trash in the 9th

Using Chapman in the 8th was idiotic. Winning games is clearly not Boone priority

Wow that is insane. Wtf happened to JD

Balls aren't traveling as far? He does have 34 doubles.

He's also been completely useless in his last 186 PA. .188/.242/.271 since June 17. He's gone from a .985 OPS to .781.

Even last year he had a scorching hot start (1.175 OPS in April) and then he had a .805 OPS for the rest of the season.
