Yup. That’ll usually do it! LolWeird they invited Jeter and Randolph but not Nettles and Guidry.
Maybe little Stein is still pissed Nettles called big Stein a fat fuck who didn't understand baseball.

RIP Denny Doyle
Was just watching the MLB network special on the '75 World Series this past weekend. He got thrown out at the plate in in the bottom of the 9th of game 6, setting the stage for Fisk's heroics a few innings later.
Had his best year in 75' RIP
And little brother Brian was huge for the Yankees in the '78 series.
Corey Kluber to the Red Sox.
3 down, 2 to go to join Steve Pearce and Kelly Johnson in the all AL East club
Devers back guys @navamind @cerealboi
Yup, and I would rather have kept mookie. But mookie's insistence on testing the free agency market and giving vibes he didn't want to stay in Boston sort of forced the sox's hand.

I feel good about where the farm system sits right now, but I think they're still a couple years away from forming the next core. Meyer probably won't be up until sometime in 2024. Rafaela could get called up this year but I think it would be much later in the season, unless the outfield is a disaster and he continues to rake. I still have high hopes for Yorke but he had an injury plagued 2022 campaign, looked much better in the AFL.
agreed. Betts could retire today and I'd say there's a very solid chance he finishes with more career WAR than Devers (56.4 to 15.2). And 15.2 WAR through age 26 is quite good. Mookie had 35 career WAR at that point. Devers is a very good player, but Mookie's a generational talent.
Yeah. Should have been the definition of the franchise player. Maybe there was nothing the Sox could have done to retain him, but I feel like they should have gone over the top.
I sort feel like part of the reason Devers got this contract is because he was the last man standing and that fanbase revolt would have been pretty ugly.
