The Mets and Correa/Boras have reached a problem with the contract. Negotiations are stalling quite badly. Apparently, the Mets have said they are willing to pull the deal off the table.

Do the Yankees currently have a more viable option? The Cabrerra/Hicks platoon looks to be likely going into the season. Stanton, when he plays in the field, will likely play RF and Bader should handle center for the team. Judge, of course, should have most of the innings in right.
Maybe a trade for Max Kepler?

Beltran transitioning to a studio role for YES next year. Thank God.

Maybin out completely-I didn't mind him as much.

YES trying to get Jeter on board. Good luck with that.

Trevor Story had internal brace surgery yesterday on his right elbow and is expected to miss time.

What is the delay in this sort of surgery? He could have had it in October.

Maybe he blew out his elbow in a pick up game of basketball.

he thought he'd be able to rest it. and as with most MLB players with elbow injuries, that wasn't the case.

edit: fwiw:

He has had difficulty throwing for several years. It was first noticed in Colorado. In retrospect, this should have been found much earlier.

Is Kiké Hernández the Sox MVP... He's in every story out there... If they get an outfielder, he'll play SS. If they get a SS, he'll play OF. If they get both, he'll play 2B...

(But, if he hits like last year he should ride the bench)...

I think the banning of the shift is going to help Rizzo more than these guys think.

I don't think that plays any role in their projections. FWIW, Steamer is a bit more optimistic on Rizzo (.241/.339/.449, 125 wRC+). I imagine his age and his meh 2020-21 seasons dampen his projections a bit. He did increase his launch angle and had a career high flyball rate, it wouldn't shock me if his power numbers are in line with 2022 and he beats his projections
