K/9 is outstanding. Everything else much less so. Only 23 and only his second year of pro ball, so you never know. Better than the bag of BP baseballs I was expecting.

The Mancini trade hurt a lot, especially for the bullshit return.

This one is ok. The bullpen has plenty of arms, and Bautista is filthy.

Turning a free agent mess into four pitchers is a good return.

I do wish Elias had added instead of subtracted to appease fans who are invested for the first time in forever though.

Next year the O’s better be in a position to start crushing.
Agreed. Thought that we could get more for Mancini than a guy with over a five ERA and another that’s not likely to pitch until 2024. Only good thing to come out of the Mancini trade is seeing if Diaz can stay healthy and will be any good. The trade for Lopez I think was a much better deal.

no more little league park for monty

Cardinals acquired LHP Jordan Montgomery from the Yankees for OF Harrison Bader.

Montgomery feels like a natural fit in St. Louis, a much more pitcher-friendly home environment with a better defense than what he was dealing with in the Bronx. The 29-year-old southpaw holds a solid 3.69 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 97/23 K/BB ratio in 114 2/3 innings (21 starts) this season, and he can probably be even better down the stretch.

Both of the guys they got for Mancini have good stuff at least, and were rated top ten prospects I believe.

The O’s farm system has a lot of talent coming up in Spetember or next year, and tgey needed to thin out the DH/1st base logjam, but I have much less affection lersonally for Santander then I do Mancini, and wish he was traded.

Maybe they sign Trey back in the offseason.

Lord know they have the cap space for it.

Yeah i dont get this move at all. Sevy out to mid September. They must really trust German

Montgomery has been a consistent #3 or 4 since he came up. He is never going to be great, but not all your pitchers are. He was going to go out there every 5th day and give you 5 or 6 innings with a chance to win. That is better than most teams have at the end of their rotation. If you wanted an OF that bad then call up Florial, not trade away someone like Montgomery.

Bad bad trade that is going to come back and haunt the Yankees. Probably going to need some innings killed against Houston, but have to send worn out arms out there only to see that vertically challenged fuckbreath drive in Mancini.

Yep you hit the nail on the head. They had absolutely killed this deadline until this very unnecessary move. Cash didn't want to see us happy

Rutschman now hitting .256/.349/.452 with a 128 wRC+. He's looking really good.

Another fine outing for Kutter, this time against a very good Astros team. Now at a 3.86 ERA with a matching xFIP and an even better 3.49 FIP.

.210 on july 15th
Risen steadily since then.

Makes no sense…..

They didn't see him in the mix in October, but you've got to get to October first. I think there's more to the story, especially how he reacted to Boone when getting lifted his last few starts.

Odd move indeed. I think Monty is going to kill it in St Louis
