Bradley just lost his starting outfield job to trade acquisition Tommy Pham and now he heads into DFA limbo having registered a weak .210/.257/.321 batting line with three home runs and two stolen bases across 91 total games this season for Boston. Given the money he is still owed -- most notably the $8 million buyout on his $12 million mutual option for 2023 -- JBJ is sure to pass through waivers unclaimed. At that point, the Red Sox can either release him or try to outright him to Triple-A Worcester

yep. Can't imagine anyone was interested in him at the deadline and the Sox have a 40 man crunch coming up.

Love JBJ but it's hard to justify a 58 OPS+ outfielder no matter how good defensively they are. still been a pleasure to watch him this decade and will never forget his role in 2018.

Valdez isn't on the 40 man next, wouldn't be surprised if he takes Yolmer's spot on it. Valdez isn't Rule 5 protected so they'll have to add him, nor is Abreu. Regardless I don't expect him to stay on the roster for very long.

Valdez broke out this season and became one of Houston's top prospects, so he's a nice pickup for Boston. A 23-year-old lefty-hitting infielder, Valdez slashed .327/.410/.606 with 21 home runs in 378 plate appearances between Double-A and Triple-A. Even if Valdez doesn't debut this season, Boston will need to add him to the 40-man roster this offseason to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.

Not holding my breath on Barnes turning around but he did throw a quick scoreless inning. I am kinda over Darwinzon at this point. He has good stuff but he has absolutely zero idea where the ball is going. He has a 7.4 BB/9 in 84.1 major league innings, and it's not like he was showing improved command in the minors (6.5 BB/9 in AAA). It's just hard to rely on a reliever with high walk rates, especially when they're that high.

it was also dumb bringing him into a tied game.
