The things that happen when your starters come back to earth after an insane first half. King going out for the season doesn't help, but they have enough talent in the pen to compensate (especially if Britton comes back)

The last few weeks have definitely shown that they need another starter, hopefully that gets rectified by tomorrow.

He's had 2 bad outings where he seems to have lost the strike zone. Hopefully it's mechanical and they can straighten him out. Even Mo had times where he was off for a week or 2 and would blow multiple saves.

My only concern with Cortez is that he's never pitched more than 90 or so innings in a year. But like you said, he's been solid.

Don’t get this at all. I understand the need for minor league pitchers but we get a guy that might not play until late next season, if at all and a guy who’s era is over 5. Shouldn’t trade a guy just to make a trade. Feel like they could’ve done much better in the return department.
Only positive is that Diaz is finally coming up. So waiting to see if that Machado trade all those years ago will finally pay some dividends.
