Don’t get this at all. I understand the need for minor league pitchers but we get a guy that might not play until late next season, if at all and a guy who’s era is over 5. Shouldn’t trade a guy just to make a trade. Feel like they could’ve done much better in the return department.
Only positive is that Diaz is finally coming up. So waiting to see if that Machado trade all those years ago will finally pay some dividends.
were they resigning mancini

The Twins could have traded Jose Godoy to the Red Sox for Diekman.

That doesnt matter.
The fans did not care, and would certainly have 2 more months with Mancini in a magical 2022 good vibe

Trey Mancini's last hit was an inside the park home run....
that bounced around the freaking Natty Bo and Old Bay party deck drunks....
..on Mo Gaba celebration Day....
..with Cal Ripken in attendance..
to put the Orioles over .500 for the first time in almost 6 years.

It doesnt get more Baltimore unless Ray Lewis, Unitas, and freaking Francis Scott Key are eating Crab Cakes at Jimmy's before a Lacrosse Final.

And then they just callously ship him off??

Will Aaron Judge break the Yankees home run record this year?

Really surprised both Volpe and Peraza are still property of the Yankees this morning. Nice job Cashman.

They said last night he's on pace for 67, which I don't think he'll get to.

But the year he hit 52, he didn't get to 43 until September 14th.

Barring injury, he ought to at least crack 60.

I don't think they ever actually intended on trading Volpe

I don't care what they do with Gallo as long as I never see him play again. Andujar I wanted to see get a chance but with Carpenter and Bientendi there's really no place for him.

you'd think the Red Sox just traded away Carlton Fisk

Elias sends yet another high quality (and only allstar) player with an inspiring backstory away for middling prospects.

I don't care how good the 2028 team might be...

This motherfucker must think baltimore is the Yankees, and we expect to contend every year.....

that we can easily flush a rare contention year down the toilet, and then just sign a bunch of free agents when needed.

2.5 out of the playoffs and they are doing this. I feel for you

The Mancini trade hurt a lot, especially for the bullshit return.

This one is ok. The bullpen has plenty of arms, and Bautista is filthy.

Turning a free agent mess into four pitchers is a good return.

I do wish Elias had added instead of subtracted to appease fans who are invested for the first time in forever though.

Next year the O’s better be in a position to start crushing.

The Yankees actually got a AA player from the Dodgers for Gallo. Supposedly their Dodgers 15th ranked prospect

Makes me think the Yankees must be paying some of Gallo's $$

But yeah, vaya con dios Joey. It was bad at the start and got immeasurably worse.

I'm sure they are but I'm still surprised they got anything for him. Bye Joey, Ed Whitson called and said you can't play in NY.
