another future dodger

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman confirmed Friday that the team and Aaron Judge were unable to come to an agreement on a long-term contract extension.

The two sides plan to table talks until the offseason. Cashman revealed that the team's final offer to Judge was for seven years and $213.5 million, which would have been on top of what he would make in 2022 via arbitration (either $17 million or $21 million). The AAV for Judge would be $30.5 million, which would have been a bit more than what Mookie Betts makes on a yearly basis (Betts, of course, signed for 12 years).
Damn. That is a really strong offer. Judge thinks he can beat that in the open market??

Exactly but yankees fan will find a way to blame Cashman because Judge decided to not accept a great offer like they were supposed to force him to sign a contract. They did their job which was offer a damn good deal

Disagree, I think that’s a great offer and I’d never blame Cashman…..Judge should meet the Yankees halfway because of his age and his injury history…..the Cole & Stanton contracts are perfect examples of what’s wrong with building a winning team…..

Good game yesterday for both teams.
I'm hoping for a different result today.

Judge is a fantastic player. The only reason I wouldn't go above 4 years is age (he'd be 36/37 towards the end) and he did miss good chunks of time to injuries.

I wouldn’t blame Cashman if Judge didn’t sign that deal. He made a great offer and I can’t imagine anyone will top it in the off-season.

Where I CAN blame Cashman is for leaking the terms of the offer. I’m not sure Judge’s camp is going to appreciate that.

Yeah I agree there. I wouldn't have done that. Should have worded it better and avoided listing any numbers

I can’t believe MLB kept the awful Little League extra inning rule. That was supposed to be gone, too. I hate the rule, but understand why they want to save pitching staffs. I just wish they would wait until the 12th or 13th innings before resorting to such gimmicks.

Supposedly it was due to the lockout. Totally agree should not start til the 13th. Give the guys 3 traditional innings to win the game

Jackie Bradley was probably the worst player in all of MLB last year. So, of course, the Red Sox view him as an everyday player this year. SMH.
