But so far, I'm having a hard time seeing how the 2022 Yankees are any better than the 2021 Yankees.

Good thing they have a master of strategy running the show.

if it makes you feel any better, FanGraphs likes the Yankees chances of making the playoffs:

Four AL East teams with > 50% odds of making the playoffs... you'll never guess which one is the odd man out.

LOL

Poor Baltimore. It never gets better.

We'll see. I'm preparing myself for some disappointment. Not sure who's gonna hit, and really not sure who's going to log quality SP innings after Cole.

Our outfield looks meh. I do love Kiké in center but he'll also likely be playing some 2nd base this year. I don't think Verdugo's ceiling is that high, he's a decent hitter but not that good for a corner OF and I don't think he's a viable center fielder. Nick Markakis 2.0. J.D. can fill in here and there but he'll be mostly DHing. I can't imagine JBJ will hit any worse than a 34 wRC+ again but he's been a pretty blah hitter over the last five years (save for the COVID-shortened 2020 season). I still like Duran but he looked overwhelmed in the majors

There's also a lot of uncertainty in the rotation, though at least there's depth.

Also wondering what position Lemahieu is playing on this roster as presently constructed.

I'm thinking Gleyber must be a little nervous this morning.

Unfortunately a lefty bat that doesn't hit righties. He hit .215 against righties last year.

At the bargain price of $32M, some serious money spent on the corners this week…..trying to unravel this plan so far….

sucks we lost out on Schwarber but I'm kind of glad we're not giving him 4 years.

Blue Jays get Chapman

Phillies get Schwarber

Cubs get Suzuki

Sox still holding their dicks. They are at risk of becoming irrelevant in that division. Blue Jays are absolutely loaded.

LeMahieu is your 2B, right? He’s won multiple gold gloves over there. Seems like a no-brainer?? Torres and Voit looking like bench guys at the moment...

Wow what a pickup in Chapman
I say this puts us out on freeman but we definitely need a LH bat.
