I honestly don't see how either team benefits from this trade, unless they both have other dominos to fall.

Twins win because they save his $50 million.... So I am thinking they win

nickel and diming everyone the last 2 years to splurge $50M on a guy who's more of a lock to be hurt than anything else.
I'm just not getting it.
This does pretty clearly close the door on Correa.

Remember when everyone expected the Yankees to go after Harper or Machado and they signed LeMahiue instead? That seems to be the same logic here passing on Freeman(not sure they really ever had a good shot there) and Correa. Now they sign Rizzo and call it a day?? I was certain they would make a push at Chapman for 3B. Donaldson is confusing to say the least.nickel and diming everyone the last 2 years to splurge $50M on a guy who's more of a lock to be hurt than anything else.

I think the move is to unload the awful Donaldson contract and replace it with a new awful Story contract.Twins benefit is clearly cleaning up their money and having more to spend now.
Remains to be seen if they actually do it or if a guy like Trevor Story is the classic Twins "Hey we tried".
With this move, I want the lockout back…..

I would say yes, hopefully in a package for Matt Olson which clears up 2nd for D.J.I wonder if they're gearing up to trade Gleyber.

Meanwhile, the small market Red Sox don’t seem to be interested in doing much of anything.
He did much better last year once they moved him too 2nd. Another team might believe he brought his defensive struggles to the plate with him and I believe that myself. Not to mention being diagnosed with covid twice didn't helpYeah, someone's got to go, clearly.
Just wish they weren't dangling Torres when his value couldn't be much lower comparatively speaking
Not yet on Rizzo. That just seems to he the next logical step for them??Did they re-sign Rizzo? I missed if so.
I'd be OK with that, but then where does DJ play?
