Perez working quickly. 57 pitches thru 6, no walks and 2 K's.

I would take him in a heartbeat right now, but Hal won't fire Boone mid-season. Not his style. I do not believe he will be offered a contract for next year. They'll do him just like they did Torre and Girardi.
Who would they replace him with right now anyway?

Is Lemahieu still on the team? I swear I haven’t heard his name mentioned all season.

Was thinking about the guy who built the 90s juggernaut. The teams that Torre gets all the credit for.

He is actually already on the payroll too.............

He's actually turned into that utility infielder we thought we signed 2 years ago.
He certainly picked the right 60 games to get hot last year. He was able to parlay that into a 6 year extension. If he had had the same 60 game sample from this year, the Yankees would have barely been interested in having him back.

He was top 5 in the MVP voting last year and the year prior.

Could have probably gone all the way. Cora a little skittish after 3 losses and looking down the barrel of a sweep.

I know. He seemingly aged 10 years this Winter. Pretty safe to assume he won’t be top 5 for MVP this time around:

2020 2021

.421 OBP .339 OBP
.590 SLG .328 SLG(!!)

3 above average seasons in a 10 year career. Look it up for yourself.

In his defense, when he’s been good he’s been REALLY good. It’s just a rarity.

And he can play all over the infield, which is valuable, especially these days.

But yeah, I'm missing the guy who hit everything hard, and usually at the most opportune moments. But, he hit .336 over his first 195 games as a Yankee. I'm not packing up on the guy because he's hitting .255 over his last 50.
