Gotta be happy anytime you can take 2/3 in that hellhole, but did not foresee getting completely shut down by a journeyman carrying a 5+ ERA.

On to Charm city, I guess.

In fairness, Hill's had a 3.02 ERA over his last 543 innings. Hell of a comeback.

I'd say the Twins are a bigger flop. At least the Braves are only 3 games under .500 and 4 games back. There's several players that are playing well below their projections, most notably Freeman, Ozuna and Fried. The Twins are 11 games under .500 and 10 games back. They have their underperformers as well (Maeda, Sano), but they're in a pretty serious hole. Fangraphs has them projected with the same record as the White Sox over the rest of the season (67-60), but that still only gets them to 79-83.

One of their beat writers tweeted last night "100 losses is not out of the question"

Stunning.

Yeah but he had a 5+ 2021 ERA going into last night.

It's substantially lower than that now.

:L

he's also thrown 17 2/3 scoreless innings, and that includes the A's and Astros.

Crazy to think they played over .600 in 2019-20.

Indians are off to a nice start despite the atrocious lineup, but it seems like some of those starters could come back to earth (not Bieber)

I think Taillon will be fine. He's got strong K/BB rates and his peripherals are much better than his ERA (3.02 xERA, 4.45 FIP, 3.54 xFIP). The home runs are killing him and his HR/FB rate should come down, though he's getting far less grounders so far.

Pretty happy with Garrett Richards so far. He got shelled in his first start but that account for 6 of the 18 earned runs he's given up this year. The walks/command are iffy but he's done a good job at preventing home runs, and his ERA is in line with his peripherals.

Indians always seem to get more out of their pitching than just about anyone. Why I wasn't counting them out even after losing Lindor. Won't matter much though if Chicago keeps going the way they are.

I hate his mechanics-his delivery just doesn't look natural to me
