and I think on the wrong side of 30

his contract with the Yankees or anyone else is real interesting, because if by some miracle he stood mostly healthy for 2 seasons, he will be a serious MVP candidate type player

The one year he was healthy, he probably should have won MVP. We know he’s as good as anyone when he can stay on the field. If Stanton weren’t around, I would just make him my full-time DH. No need to force the issue with him playing the outfield. Too easy to tweak a muscle running around out there. You might have had it right just putting him in bubble wrap until September and ramping him up for the playoffs.
