I don't hate the Sandoval signing for the Sox, but it just feels like it signals that's more or less it for the rotation. And doing so on a guy who may not pitch a whole lot this year isn't ideal.

Sandoval is more of a signing for 2026. He will miss at least half of this season and will be eased back in. I still think they add a guy like Flaherty because the current rotation looks pretty suspect.

Then they can still add a bat like Teoscar or Santander to the mix. Bregman seems unlikely. An Arenado trade seems possible.

Can't say the Yankees haven't spent the money that Soto left behind. IMO they are a better team than they were at the end of the season

A lot of potential but also a lot of risk of injury. Can’t be mad if you are a Boston fan, they desperately needed SP.

Just now

His 2024 season worries me, but I like it as a 1 year gamble. Sox at least have a lot of depth now.
I was seeing rumors that the Sox were talking to San Diego about Dylan Cease. It would have cost us Casas, Abreu and Mayer. Steep. Probably mean that they overpay for Bregman, moved Devers to 1st and throw Anthony into a corner OF.

Wish I could argue that point, but when all the O’s have done is sign a replacement for Taters, an ex yankee reject, and a 35 year old japanese starter, there isnt much to argue.

Of course the offseason isnt over yet and signing all those players doesnt mean much in the regular season, but I’m glad for you that you like the moves that yanks are making.

There is no way that the price for 1 year of Cease is Casas, Abreu and Mayer. That is absurd and you should disregard whatever source fed you that nonsense forever.
