I don't mind trading prospects. It is weird they gave up Teel. They were high on him replacing Wong in 26...
Crochet is now Boston's youngest starter....

Sign Burnes and this could be a really good rotation. I think Houck's 2024 was pretty legit and Bello's 2nd half gives me some optimism for a better 2025
They have to extend him. This just feels like they're panicking
If they don’t extend him this is the Herschel walker trade

I'd scrap Whitlock as a starter. He can't stay healthy. After the Fried contract, I think Burnes is now too expensive... I think he'll go to Toronto....
If Sox add another pitcher, it might be Sasaki. But, they now have Crochet, Giolito, Houck, Bello, Crawford, Whitlock, Fitts, & Cooper - who can all start...
I have a feeling they'll throw money at Teoscar Hernadez and save the bank for Vlad Jr. next winter...

Ah fudge have to extend him.... Terrible move then!

I don't think they are panicking... They've been in on Crochet all winter.
The kid is only 25 and two years from FA. They have time to see if he works out before they extend him...
Don't mean to sound like a doomer. I did want Crochet. I was just surprised at what they gave up.
Who wrote this article? The prospect haul coming the Sox is laughably light. It doesn’t include any of their top 5 prospects at all. You aren’t getting Tucker for that, let alone with Valdez. The Boston media is going crazy because they didn't sign Soto or Fried....
Here's a nice trade "rumor"... Boston gets Tucker & Valdez for three mid prospects!
Red Sox-Astros 5-player trade pitch brings Kyle Tucker and Framber Valdez to Boston | Sporting News
Could Houston and Boston pull off an epic blockbuster deal?www.sportingnews.com
Feels like an overpay and a panic move as the Sox were looking at another failed offseason. I like Crochet, but he’s not an ace. They do need him in the rotation, though. I think Teel will be a good one, but I understand why he had to be in this deal. Now they need to extend him(which I think they will).@steveringo @chappee11 thoughts on losing Teel?

Different story. Some idiot said Boston would give Franklin Arias, Miguel Bleis and Brooks Brannon to Houston - for Framber Valdez and Kyle Tucker!
You are replying to the wrong trade. The proposal posted by @steveringo had the Sox getting Tucker & Valdez from HOU for Franklin Arias, Miguel Bleis and Brooks Brannon. And that proposal is utterly absurd and worse than anything I’ve seen on any message board. lolTeel and Montgomery are #4 and #5 on Sox Prospects and MLB Pipeline.
I can get behind trading Montgomery. He's less established and the Sox have plenty of outfield prospects, two of whom are knocking on the door of the major leagues. Teel is the one I'm more iffy on trading.
