Rotation looks good as long as they can stay healthy enough

Rotation could be awesome. Lineup is a huge question mark.

Hoping we can still land Burnes, but I would have preferred Fried.

Wow! 8 years seems too long, but the Yankees do tend to do these deals where they don’t expect much on the back side of the deal.

I’m guessing Stroman is trade bait now.

Of course it’s too long. But that’s the way contracts have always worked.

But he is a lefty. So he should play longer. Until he 39?? It’s definitely more possible as a lefty than as a righty.

And the thing about these contracts is if they do what they need to do for most of the contract then who cares if it’s a bad 2 yrs at the end of if you told me he lived up to it the first 5 or 6 years

Sox must have been at 7 years, because the last thing I read before this broke was the Yankees were considering going to 6 years

Almost immediately after Cashman said they're not going to spend like drunken sailors :noidea:

The Red Sox are going to end up with Jack Flaherty as their big pitching acquisition while telling everyone how hard they tried. It’s the same shit for 3-4 years now.

The Boston media is going crazy because they didn't sign Soto or Fried....

Here's a nice trade "rumor"... Boston gets Tucker & Valdez for three mid prospects!

One team executive pulled themselves out of the Garret Crochet running because the had the audacity to ask for three prospects! I wonder which team that was!!?

"We’re out. They wanted three of our top prospects. Three. We can’t do that," one high-ranking team source told Tom Verducci of Sports Illustrated.

Latest Garrett Crochet trade buzz: One interested team drops out due to asking price

And, Seattle isn't trading a pitcher....

I want Crochet, but this feels like an overpay. I don't like giving up both Teel and Montgomery, especially when we could use a young catcher. Wong is fine but he's not the catcher of the future

I hate this

Seems like they gave up too much for him..

However, fans would be up in arms if the Red Sox didn't make a move.... Besides Chapman

They have to extend him. This just feels like they're panicking

Ah fudge have to extend him.... Terrible move then!

Sign Burnes and this could be a really good rotation. I think Houck's 2024 was pretty legit and Bello's 2nd half gives me some optimism for a better 2025
