Make that 17 homers in May
While Joey Bats is grateful to fans across North America and the Caribbean for their online and in-stadium support, he was upset about the exclusion of teammate Edwin Encarnacion, who carried the Jays’ offence for the first month and a half of the season. Encarnacion, normally a first baseman this season but listed on the ballot as a DH, was outpolled in fan voting by Red Sox slugger David Ortiz and in player balloting by White Sox comeback candidate Adam Dunn. No shame there.
“There’s always different events that can happen,” Bautista said, referring to a potential injury that could yet open the door to Encarnacion’s inclusion on the AL roster.
“(Edwin) put the team on his back when I wasn’t doing well. To have his RBIs, average and home runs, it’s a disappointment he wasn’t included.”
This is an article from a couple of years ago I stumbled upon regarding the All Star game then. Wonder if Encarnacion will be forgotten this year?
So far it ain't looking good. Even Melky is ahead of him.

Probably just infield depth until Drew's ready.
that being said, the complaints from Sox players about the "unwritten rules" were dumb. I had no complaints with the Rays stealing with a 5-run lead. They're just playing baseball.
However, the Ortiz HBP probably stems from Ortiz "admiring" a home run off Price in the playoffs. Ortiz wasn't showing him up though... he was checking to see if the ball was fair.
