It doesn't matter who you're playing. Sweeping road series are hard.

If you think sweeping 3 game sets are easy you're an idiot

I agree, sweeping a road series isn't an easy task..

unless it's the Houston Astros, who have hit rock bottom and lost 100+ games the last 3 seasons.

The Yankees should've swept. Agree to disagree. I have higher expectations for the team I support than you do.

Question: Why is it you and Stan can't debate baseball without name calling? Are you in grammar school? Grow up man

When stating "you're an idiot", it is most fun to type "Your an idiot".

But, give him a break... He might be new to baseball. These forums should be used to educate, not berate.

New to baseball?

Yes.

And they are the New York Yankees. I suspect you think they are better that they actually are. You might want to lower your expectations.

They have a fine roster, but they need a lot to go right to have a good season (as does every team, to an extent). I wonder if one or two key players goes down, do they have a suitable plan B.... And that should be worrisome in this division.

The Yankees made off season moves to improve the team exponentially over last season, so yes a die hard fan like myself expects them to win a series vs the worst team in baseball the last three seasons.

The O's offense came on too late today. I think it's showing that the O's starting pitching is still going to be a weak spot. I hope it's not another one of those seasons where the bullpen is going to log an insane amounts of innings.

Also, Machado is sorely missed in the lineup. Flaherty is about as close to an automatic out as you can get.

O's need to wake up soon. You can't win a division in April but you sure can lose one

they'll hit home runs, but I'm not sure they'll get on base enough to really score a lot. We shall see.

Watch out for the Blue Jays as well.. It seems like every year they are talented but then an injury or underachieve causes them to have a mediocre season.. They still have the best power in the entire league..

I've learned never to count the Jays out. They hover around .500 almost perpetually and 'make their move', when the teams ahead of them slip a bit.

O's display so far has been maddening. Yes, getting Machado back will be huge. No one's expecting C. Davis to hit 50 homers again.. he just had a great year last year. If Gausman pitches well again in the minors, he will be a huge boost to the rotation in a couple of months. The rotation they have now, excepting Tillman, just needs to settle down. We'll see.

TB looking pretty solid thus far, batting and pitching-wise.

Yes you.....Wasn't it pretty cold last night? You know baseball fans usually leave early when it's a little cold

Yeah it was pretty cold... Many fans left after the 9th inning but I'd say about 10,000-12,000 people still stayed till the end. If the wind stopped I think it would have been a lot nicer but I believe the temperatures around game time were about 42 and with the wind was about 39-40 and about 37ish at games end. I couldn't believe my eyes at how many people I saw wearing shorts!

Lester's looked very sharp in his first 13 innings of the season. He's only at 73 pitches through 6 innings. Unfortunately, the Sox offense can't get much going against Estrada.
