If we can't hit it doesn't matter how good the pitching is. Granted I havn't been able to watch either game, but 3 runs in two games against Houston's pitching is terrible.

I think MLB should rescue the Yankees. They should change the rules somehow, for the good of the league.
The yankees are an important asset of the league? Without some help, The Yankees can't hit and can't pitch. Screw the Astros. I know many of you think the Astros are bad but The way they handled the Yankees?

I think both are pretty good. I think we can have 4 of our 5 starters finish with their ERA below 4.

Well in game 1 we weren't doing shit until the 7th and 8th. Last night we were hitting but couldn't bring runners in when we had a chance 2. We had runners on 1st and 3rd with 1 out and runners on 1st and 3rd with no outs.....We managed to score 1 run out of those 2 situations.....That should've resulted in at least 3 runs.

It also would be nice to get more than a single when we actually do hit. I don't think we had a double last night.

When is the last time the Bronx Bombers didn't hit a HR in the first 2 games to start the year?

Yes.

And they are the New York Yankees. I suspect you think they are better that they actually are. You might want to lower your expectations.

They have a fine roster, but they need a lot to go right to have a good season (as does every team, to an extent). I wonder if one or two key players goes down, do they have a suitable plan B.... And that should be worrisome in this division.

It was rain shortened, but a six inning no-hitter with nine strike outs is pretty impressive. Owens is 21, tall and lanky. I'd like them to keep him at AA for most of the year, then slot him for AAA next seaon with a late 2015 call-up a possibility. The Sox are very lucky to have so many high ceiling pitching prospects - they don't need to rush anyone. With a few more pounds and better control, this kid could be a solid Major League starter...
