Man, what is wrong with Betances? Mechanical issues? Would hate to see a talented pitcher like him get the yips, especially after what happened with Daniel Bard (though that may have been Boston's doing to some extent). 12 walks in 4.2 innings is pretty disconcerting.

He threw 73+ innings in each of the last three seasons (including 90 in 2014 and 84 in 2015). That's a lot of innings for a reliever.

I think you guys are overreacting a little. Even the best relievers can have a rough stretch, relievers in nature are volatile. Look at Kimbrel, his 2015 and 2016 seasons weren't all that great and Kimbrel's command was pretty spotty last year. He's been absurd this year. I find it amazing he walked 30 guys in 53 innings last year, whereas in 2017 he's only walked 5 guys in 36.2 innings.

I love how Pineda's had a better ERA at home from 2014-16 despite allowing 39 of his 53 home runs at Yankee Stadium
