I like Quest, but then, I am a special education teacher.. I would have a hard time trading him when he loves his Twins more than the rest of us put together.

As for Joe Mauer, he grew up in St. Paul. He is Minnesota. For Christ sake, he is having TWINS! We signed him long term to appease the fans about the new stadium. At that time, if Joe was not from Minny, he would have signed with the Yankees for even more. I see him in the plans of the future. The perfect stabilizer for all the kids. A part-time catcher, first baseman, or DH. Tony Oliva DH'ed down the home stretch and was awesome. A 36-38 year old Mauer can do what Edgar Martinez did. Bat him 2nd, 3rd, clean-up, 5th, 6th...

Morneau is not a Minnesotan. But he is a Canadian, which is I believe a cousin of Minnesota. His value is poor in trade markets. Maybe a restructure and stay? Or trade him and not get enough for a former MVP. He could play 1B and DH for many years to come, and may regain his touch.

Though, I doubt we keep both. I doubt Mauer ever leaves.

Why is the only team I hear possibly being interested in Morneau the Yankees? I would think the Red Sox would have some interest, not that I want to see him in a Red Sox uni...

Don't the Red Sox have Napoli playing 1B most of the time now? And Ortiz has the DH spot. Not sure where Mornea would fit....at least as a fulltime player.

I don't think Mauer ever leaves either simply because we won't eat his salary to trade him.

I don't dislike quest, he obviously licked the windows of the bus one too many times but he's ok.

Morneau will probably be around to bridge the gap until the Twins are ready to contend in '15. No need to restructure though, he's a FA after the season. I can see the Twins giving him 2 years 10 million with some incentives built in...

LOL not on here for the afternoon and come on to see my name brought up in trade talks. Expect the unexpected. While I am very negative about the current state of the Twins I'd like to believe my value is higher than anything involving Vice. Glad Nos and Rolling didn't pull the trigger on the deal!!

Quest for a "low level poster" gave me a good laugh along with him licking windows haha.

I give him credit for his fanhood but it's so over the top with him refusing to see anything other than what he believes. Would be nice to send him to the Royals, they need some representation on here.

Rolling, while I will be extremely ticked off if the Gardy rumors are true and he stays...I will not demand my release from the Twins.

There are other teams year to year I root for based on players and such, but only the Twins get me worked up because I am dying to get back to championship caliber.

I agree Cleaves it would be ideal to find a deal for Morneau but I don't think it will happen. Id like a pitcher but I don't think teams will give much up. He may be resigned for 2 or 3 years. I don't mind because Parmelee still hasn't figured it out. I just hope that a Morneau resigning doesn't in some way stunt the call up of Sano(I know he plays 3B but there are factors). He needs to be up here by next year and starting by 15'.

Me and Rolling will always be on the same side with regarding Mauer. I don't think he will ever move and I think he still fits great for our future with the young guys coming. We just need to use him properly. Give him opportunities to drive in runs and not be afraid to spend other money to build around him. Our payroll is still very low and will be lower next year I believe. He's such a good hitter he will help the young guys, we just gotta use him/bat him the right way.
