Infante wants 10 mil a year for 4 years.....definately still, Boni at 3 mil > than Infante at 10 or even 8 mil, without a doubt.

Production on the field disagrees with you. Infante would solve quite a few problems and KC doesn't have a legit 2B prospect (Colon is an AAAA player, and Dozier is a better 3B than 2B) coming to KC for several years.

damn, cryin wolf again..."I am being stalked and followed"...nailed it, Vice 2.0....lol.....Ronnie has been fine...go cry on the Tigers board...they will cuddle you.

When it suits cleaves, can play the drama queen very well. His problem on the Tiger board is that posters (not just me) have gotten on him for spinning every off-season move by the Tigers into some negative catastrophe. Honestly....he HAS complained about every trade or signing they have made. And, as one person stated, he then spells out the worst scenario imaginable and tries to sell it as inevitable truth. If you point out financial considerations to explain a trade, he dismisses that as stupid ("Its not our money"). I went so far as to create a roster he preferred, showing him that his team salary would be around $200mil in 2014.....again dismissed as not important and that in a few years $25mil a year salaries would be common place, etc, etc. Like many, cleaves wants to play team GM/owner, but does not want to deal with finances - just making a team with All Stars at all positions.

Infante is not 3 times the player Boni is...don't drink and play on the computer...or at least look up some stats...

He does make a team will all All Stars...he calls them the Detroit Tigers...no matter what players they have he will say they are the best at their positions in the league all season long...

Fielder was a terrible deal, Tigers were brilliant for getting rid of him...
Fister deal was just plain dumb...they got nothing for him...should have got at least 1 top prospect.
Joba...actually a good low risk, high reward signing
Davis..another good pickup to play for Dirks and/or Jackkkkson in spells
Rotation is currently weaker than it has been over the last 3 seasons by getting rid of Fister
Tigers sign Santana, that would be hilarious for so many reasons, one being the Fister deal.
Tigers have to get another sure bat and a quality 8th inning guy (and get rid of damn Coke and AA)...to make this off season a success for them.

The Tigers season is currently in the hands of how Nick, Dirks, Smyly do and Nathan, Hunter and VMart don't get their AARP cards in the mail midseason.

I just think when you are as close as the Tigers are you don't trade away major pieces, if they don't win in 2014 then trade Fielder, I would have given the team one more year and just added a couple pieces.

Thats the post of the year there.....they would had been able to unload fielder to some desperate team in the future...it always happens....they should had just tried to add nathan and another BP piece....if you had to trade fister to make that happen, then do it...but the tigers turned their team over alot...teams that are that close may add a few pieces....no give it a facelift...

I also find it funny....some tiger fans cried about fielders contract, since he would age....but nobody has a problem with giving miggy 25-30 million a year after next year and beyond....i love miggy, but why is he considered to never age or break down, but fielder is? Fielders the one who never misses a game...

I would not call the Davis and Joba signings stupid. If Joba bounces back and pitches sub 3.00 era then Dave D is a genius. It's risk reward and I would have to think that Dave D has some insight. I would have liked a few other guys but we are talking about a 7th inning setup man that has closing experience.

Davis is a platoon guy with speed. He hits righties well and is a defensive specialist in a park where you need speed. Outside of Choo who would run between 130-140 million who was a better FA OF that was willing to sign a short term deal? Raul Ibanez? not.

As for Fister I hate to see him go and truth be told I would have rather seen Detroit trade Max for a package. The Prince trade was a contract dump and can't be judged until we know what Detroit will do long term. The Prince trade should make the Central be pissed as it gives Detroit flexibility. If they were locked into that deal for the length Detroit can't make any significant moves for the next 2-3 years at least.

Detroit moving away from Peralta was no huge loss as his season last year was well above his average. Infante hurts as he was a consistent hitter but Kinsler is pretty much an even trade off. Better wheels and better fielder.

As for the Twinkies until they start putting better guys around Mauer I wouldn't be concerned about the Tigers. Stupid move = getting rid of Cuddyer. The guy just killed Detroit I am so happy to see him in the NL!

I heard raji davis is a horrible fielder...dont know if its true, but alot of people have said that.....plus for a team trying to cut payroll a bit, it doesnt make sense to sign a platoon guy to 5 million a year in my eyes...give don kelly a million.....give phil coke anything....

People keep shaking losing peralta off....he was the only guy to hit in the playoffs besides vmart.....but i forgot....its all fielders fault..

Of course it was my opinion, I just don't see why you'd trade away a couple great pieces when you are so close, funny thing is I don't remember most Tigers fan bashing Fielder until he was a no show in the playoffs. I understand your idea of thinking toward the future but you can never be sure what future you will have, you got to try and win now. IMO the moves the Tigers have made have not been of the let's win now type of thinking.

Yup its all fielders fault and lets worry about 2 years from now....the tigers only have 80 million invested in next years team....and even less in 2015......i just dont get it....hunter and vmart come off the books after next year....

You didnt know...fielder was the reason we lost.....what he did in the regular season anyone can do.....let the walking of miggy begin....hopefully kinsler bats 5th and hits like its 2008 again.

Ive noticed alot of tigers fans new word they like to us..........IF

Was it?

His rate stats in 2013 was very similar to his rate stats in 2011, and the Tigers will need to replace his most recent production (2013, although it was in 107 games). FWIW, FanGraphs and rotochamp are both predicting Iglesias to have a pretty bad year offensively, so it could be a bigger loss than you're thinking Peralta is if Iglesias does indeed struggle.

Our 5-9 hitters will have pretty bad year....miggy will get walked a ton.....lucky for the tigers starting pitching....im still hoping they can win the division still....

Just dont get trading fielder AND fister and all you can add is nathan and raji and joba moneywise?

Hahaha yup other tiger fans...one jalopy....

You make fun of me...but yet youre saying the exact same thing i have been saying...

The fielder trade was good, IF they spent the saved money wisely....not worrying about 3 yrs from now...this team was a contender.

Fister trade was dumb...no doubt about that...

Joba wont be a good deal....he wont be better than veras...if we werent a serious contender, id have no problem taking a risk with joba.

Davis was a decent pickup....but at 5 million a year? To platoon? No OBP...getting old....wouldve been a great move IF we still had some pop from last years lineup left.

Rotation is weaker i agree....the BP is also....benoit wasnt the problem last year...it was the 7th and 8th innings....what did we add? We lost smyly and veras....added joba and krol.

Signing santana would be a wtf since we traded fister and we are trying to save money....

I said the tigers need a 5 hitter or a leadoff hitter that would allow kinsler to bat 5th...and another BP arm like crain...kinslers numbers were similar to ajax last year....raji ajax and kinsler all are weak get on base leadoff hitters.

Like i said....some tiger fans favorite word is IF....

Nobody? Nobody asked my opinion on that matter yet!

Oh yeah....sorry smitty......were usually on the same page....i know you dont ONLY blame fielder for losing last year.....and i think you hated the fister deal.....and id bet you dont care for jaba da hutt.....

I just call it the way i see it.....tigers panicked and got worse this year.....hopefully DD is not done.....im still a huge DD supporter.....he made us relevant again after being the laughing stock.

Neither. The term ignorant comes to mind first and foremost. Lost seems to be perpetual state for you. I think it is obvious to anyone that ever played the game that you have no clue what you are talking about. I will give you credit where it is deserved though. You can Google stats better than anyone on the internet. Now if you just could figure out what the stats mean you might get off square one.

lost, yes, not a shocker...off season, negative nancy...regular season, don't understand why the AL All Star team can't just be listed on the Tigers schedule as another away game.

Joba is already better than Coke and AA and could be Rondon...Joba at 2.5 mil could be a steal of a deal..(anything would to get Coke and AA back to the minors or picked up by Houston)

You do realize Hunter is like 50 yrs old...Davis will be needed more than a "platoon"

OK cleaves.....let us buy your doom and gloom scenario. Who do we blame for this debacle? WHY is that person(s) trying to destroy this great Tiger team? According to you, the stupidity of these moves is obvious, but why did they occur? I'm not big on conspiracies, so I doubt the Tiger front office is trying to destroy the team for either personal financial gain or because of the demands from ''controlling authorities". So.....you've spent days repeating over and over and over how OBVIOUSLY dumb the Tigers have been....NOW TELL US why THEY ARE DOING THESE THINGS?

:wtf2:

Im ignorant because i dont like the fister trade?

Care for the joba signing?

Care for the davis signing?

Care for resigning phil coke?

Care for handing nicky C the keys to the ferrari?

Care for just handing rondon the set up guy a yr after handing him the closers role?

I liked the nathan signing....and understand the fielder trade.....but a team in money problems dont hand a platoon guy 5 million....coke anything.....joba 2.5 million......id rather have fister than all 3 of those guys....but yeah....ignorant....

I think I finally get it, when Cleaves is getting beat up on the Tigers board, then he comes to the AL Central thread just to burn off some steam...now its making sense...and if you "follow" him to the AL Central thread then your "stalking or following" him...if you go back to the Tigers thread, again, your "stalking or following" him....lol...he can cry wolf either way....makes sence how Vice/Cleaves wanted and got me out of the Tigers boards....wow, the focus on the screen is getting much more clearer and getting much more dialed in.

They both love Justin Timberlake's "Cry me a river", sure they have a good dance routine to go with it.

All star team? Never said iggy was an all star....avila sucks...dirks sucks....ajax is no all star....BP blows......nicky c is not an all star...hes a PROSPECT! Please show me where i said any of those guys were all stars...

I wasnt a negative nancy last offseason....loved getting tori
Year before loved getting prince

This year...i dont like most of their moves...

I was told by these same tiger fans that davis is a platoon guy....do i want davis filling in for hunter vs a lefty? Hell no! If he does than dirks has to play....if he fills in for hunter vs right handed pitching, its an automatic out...

So are you NOW telling me detroit got better this offseason? You just argued with me all day telling me how bad detroit got.....

da55bums....cleaves has me on ignore. A VERY common practice on the Tigers' board. Thus he won't give an answer to my question of WHO we should blame for the obviously stupid moves by the Tigers. Moves, by the way, that according to cleaves have taken them out of playoff contention. I have asked him WHY he thinks the Tigers have made these ''stupid'' moves...he never answered.
