I was so happy to hear Leyland retired.

no more wacky line ups. How he got away with starting that kid figarua in Minnestoa for that 1 game play off??? he should have been fired for that!

no other manager in the game ..would have kept Fielder in the clean up spot afte that many games of No power no RBIs and poor plate appearances. NONE!
maybe fielder wouldn't have come alive in the 6th or 7th spot?

we need a young guy. Some one that will call out a player when he doesn't produce.

Hey doug...

Are you sure that Leyland was the reason they didn't win a World Series? I have my doubts about that. Besides if a manager is so important to winning....why aren't they paid $20mil a year? Yet....if all a manager does is drag a team down...why even have one?

But my biggest question I have is WHY didn't Dombrowski and Illitch figure out Leyland was holding them back? If THEY couldn't figure out JL was a liability (and YOU did!!!), what does that say about THEM????

Just goes to show you never were a reg on here.....most of us like hockey and dougie still talk on here about college football, college hoops, hockey, and the NFL......its year round smack talk for us.....but sure....you can be gone til next year. Cuz the royals did feel like they won the WS this year.

Dombrowski and Illitch kept Leyland as manager for 8 years. In that amount of time, how come THEY didn't see Leyland wasn't very good. Most of the Tiger fans around here have been yelling for JL to be gone for years (just like you, huh?). In my mind, DD should be fired too....unless Illitch told him he HAD to keep Leyland.

yes, leyland was the problem....not the bullpen, not the weak lineup around Miggy, it had to be the coaching and managing that was the problem....2015...if they don't win it then, fogettaboutit...the window then closes

ithink players tuned out Leyland.
you saw how he let raburn and inge gail for over a year.
that hurt this team.... it got to the point the fans were booing so hard before even address the issue.

doug....you are piling everything on LEYLAND. If JL was screwing up so bad....why didn't Dombrowski do something. It seems obvious to me that DD should be fired ASAP! He stupidly let Leyland off the hook for his dumb mistakes. Do you think we should let Dombrowski pick a NEW manager? He didn't do anything about JL! Maybe he does not know a good manager from a bad one!!!!
