Tigers take the 1st two -- I can say, from watching every game for the Tigers this year, Verlander found something today after the 1st few innings. His velocity was the highest it has been all year (he actually hit 100 on the gun) and he started throwing his fastball for strikes.

If Verlander actually did find the glitch he has been talking about in his delivery and starts pitching like that the rest of the year -- Detroit is going to run away with the AL Central.

I like to see Detroit finding someone different each game to come up with the big hits. Last night it was Alex Avila with a 3 run homer. Tonight it was Don Kelly with a 3 run homer. Nice that it isn't just the middle of the order doing the damage.

Yeah he looked really good. Hitting close to 100 on the gun after 100 pitches. That was the old JV. No walks for the first time all year. That was very promising. Post game he said he found something on film. We'll see.
