Oh, my Lord!! I just went over to youtube, and I watched a vid tabbed "Jose Iglesias highlights". I couldn't believe it, this guy is a human Kirby!! He vacuums up EVERYTHING on the left side!! His speed, sure handedness, range, and arm are simply remarkable. I just couldn't believe it!! Now, I understand why the Red Sox FO called him one of, if not THE best defensive SS in the game. "This kid will make plays you have NEVER seen before" ~ Cherington to Dombrowski as he was pitching Iglesias to Dombrowski. Know something?? Cherington was spot on with that one.. watch the clip, you'll see it for yourself!!
On the flip side, if Peralta does accept the suspension, then I'm going to miss his middle of the order calibre bat, wherr he's hitting .308-10-53.. one of the best hitting SS in the business, to be sure. On the other hand, it considered that Iglesias is hitting over his head at .330, but hey, even if the guy hits .260 with little power, it's okay. The Tigers a buttload of blast power, and EVERYONE knows it, whether they want to or not. Iglesias brings 2 elements the Tigers are in dearth of -- speed and stellar defense on the left side. We just tuck the kid in the lineup somewhere around # 8 or 9, and th in should be fine. Hate to lose Jhonny's bat if he fails to appeal his suspension, but hey, the overall scope appears to suggest that the Tigers are getting every bit, if not more in return Our 2 groundball pitchers at the end of our rotation (Fister/Porcello) should thrive with a defender like that over there who will not give up range hits, but take them away.
