A report broke today that the 49ers are now willing to trade Aiyuk as long as a veteran reciever coming back is part of the deal. I didn't trust the site, so I didn't post it. Just an FYI

The trade lands Aiyuk with Washington, sending wide receiver Jamison Crowder and a 2025 third-round pick to the Broncos with the 49ers landing Courtland Sutton and a 2025 second-round pick.

Some additional notes on this proposal.
1. S.F. saves a little over 1M dollars on this trade, which is the difference between Sutton's salary and Aiyuks. ( Sutton wants to renegotiate his deal)

2. Cap strapped Denver would save $13.57M by trading Sutton (Crowder's salary is a little over 1M for this season.

I understand it better now that you broke it down that way. At first I didn't get it from Denver's side, but the cap savings make some sense.

Trading Dotson or McLaurin in a deal with SF defeats the purpose of acquiring Aiyuk in the first place imo.

Schefter is a known mark/friend of the Shanahan's. If something happens, he'll be the one to break it.

It absolutely does. Now if Dotson or McLaurin are headed that way, it wouldn't.

Nah, no biggie. I'm at around 10-7 right now with us getting the 7th seed. This is all going to change of course after preseason.

Adding Aiyuk for picks/not players, I'd start to think about how we match up with Philly if you know what I mean.

"One player away" carries so many differing perspectives with it and my own are very nuanced. While fully aware that Washington is in its first year as a rebuilding organization, being competitive IMO, makes them noticeable, while adding a Higgins or Aiyuk put a buzz around this team unseen since 2012.

1-2 wins, which means anywhere between 6-8 total, depending on other players growing with Daniels as the season progresses.
