Adrian Peterson believes Vick would make the Vikings a playoff team. Is he right?

Of course he did cause the little bitch is standing on a sideline holding a clip board collecting a paycheck! (A paycheck that pays off that debt he has cause he thought dog fighting was cool)....
So, please elaborate on your thoughts about other backup NFL players "collecting checks" who have done shitty things in their lives. You know, since you're still so hung up on Vick's past life. I'd love to hear your moral superiority stories against what is a huge % of the NFL that is shitty human beings , who do terrible things, taking up roster spots.

That offense would be unstoppable. Hands down best running back in the game with the most talented QB in the league? Patterson and Jennings are both respectable, especially with how much AD would open them up and down the field.

Are we talking about Vick here?

I'm sure he could put up a 100 yards a game.

One thing is for sure, AD wouldn't put up 25 yards a game if RG3rd string was there, because he runs it himself 90% of the time.....:bolt:

AD would put up a 2500 yards without facing ten men in the box every play.

The qb has to hand it to him first, Robert is all about Robert, so he does the running in his game....woops, I mean RG3rd string....:argue:

Bullshit. You can't blame him for the worst coaching staff in the league.

I find it interesting that we agree completely on the general topic of this thread, yet have pretty big disagreements on certain other issues. It just goes to show that people tend to have more in common then they might think, but on a societal level, we usually focus almost entirely on our differences.

 I should have realized who where talking about. At this point folks are talking bust about RG3, not best ever. I was high on him myself going into the draft, but now....not so much, but you hang in there, because you never know, he could be the next M. Vick or something.

Maybe you were being sarcastic, but if not, being the next Vick is not a very big accomplishment. Vick has never been a winner on the football field. Sure he has made some spectacular plays and had a few winning seasons, but when it really counts, he is nothing.

The most significant thing Vick has ever done was Godfather a dog fighting ring.

The topic is Vick, not other back ups in the league.. I stated my thoughts, you don't like fine, I don't care ...

And? People are fickle. The talent is indisputably there. Shanahan was a terrible coach, and if Washington were disbanded tomorrow less than a third of their roster even makes another team. Circumstances matter, and they matter a lot. You could put Peyton (or Brady, or Wilson, or literally any QB in the league) on Washington and they would not resemble a playoff team in any way. Maybe they climb to 6 wins last year, but that's generous.

He's probably better off getting the hell out of there ASAP, but either way give him some time and he will demonstrate himself to be an elite passer and in discussions as the best in the league. Putting the blame on him with that line and the fact that he had to spend the entire offseason rehabbing instead of expanding the offense, combined with the lack of surrounding talent on either side of the ball, simply isn't fair. I expect him to put them back on his shoulders this year, but if they don't make some moves (and dumping shanahan was a great one), he's simply not in a position to succeed, and should bolt for greener pastures the second he is able.

If you put RG3 on Minnesota they'd put up 100 a game.
With that oline? Its possible that they'd be really, really good although Alfred Morris and Pierre Garcon are no slouches so its not like it would be totally transformational when compared to the Redskins. The Vikings offense was good with a late career Farve and thats the only franchise QB Peterson has ever had. Cassel is a starting level QB.

The Vikings are a playoff team if they find a defense. On paper, they look to have one of the worst defenses in the league going into next year if Jared Allen walks. In reality, they brought in a really good coach and have one of the deepest drafts in a while to work with.

Their worst lineman would easily be Washington's best. I like Garcon, but AD is much better than Morris, and Jennings compares relatively favorably to Garcon. I'd take the vertical threat of Patterson over anyone else on Washington's roster.

Going to Minnesota wouldn't give RG3 better field vision or keep his eyes downfield under pressure. Nor would it keep him from not taking responsibility and throwing everyone else under the bus when things aren't going well.

This hypothetical is getting ridiculous. How many points can RG3 score with Peterson, Megatron, prime Bruce Matthews, Orlando Pace and Godzilla? Probably a lot.

Vikings have Cassel who is better than Ponder, imo. Their issues are on defense.

His field vision is well above average. You can't keep your eyes downfield with 5 free rushers in your face.

No, his field vision is not well above average. He gets happy feet as he attempts to go through his progressions.

And plenty of QBs keep their eyes downfield under a lot of pressure, any QB worth his salt really. It must be nice to blame everything on someone else, god knows no other talented QBs have ever had to overcome a poor o-line. A good QB compensates for a shitty line.

Washington's system was mostly one read stuff, right?

The knock on RG3 is that he isnt built to play QB. He has a built up track body and yet he never slides.
