This guy is the real deal. Puck moving D-man from Sweeden with good size. If we're going to turn this thing around, let's do it NOW. If not, please draft this guy.
I've said it in other posts, but most expect this to be a shallow draft. Especially in terms of generational elite talent. By all accounts there aren't any Crosby, Ovechkin, Stamkos, Niedermayer, Pronger, Brodeur types.
Puck moving centers aren't that rare. Lou just doesn't like them because they don't know what to do when the puck is moving the other way. This team needs help in a lot of places. May as well pick the big talented 2-way defenceman than the big talented 2-way center.
seeing how we havent been able to fill the void and im talking about a SECOND LINE center..yeah i think its a tough spot to fill and is more important! how many players have we tried and failed at center? rolston/zubrus/elias
In all fairness, we constantly tried to convert wingers to centers, instead of just signing a solid center. Something we did with Arnott this season. I think we should take the best player available whenever our pick comes up. And I want a solid pick. Someone who might not have the highest potential, but is a guaranteed player.
well seeing how we have kovy for 15 years and he isnt meshing with zajac our #1 center..and im going to assume we lock parise up long term your going to need a center to play with these guys...sorry but center trumps offensive defenseman anyday of the week
Cup: He's not just an offensive Dman. He's a 25 minute/game Dman that has size, hits, and plays very well defensively. He just so happens to have a lot of offensive talent also.
He's currently leading the entire SEL in +/- right now and last year set scoring records for his age group despite being a Dman.
The thing is, Larsson might be the best player in the entire draft. Of course I'd like a center, but Larsson is a guy who is an offensive defenseman with a lot of size. We don't have that at all. Lou always says he goes with the best player available in the draft regardless of position. I don't think he will change that philosophy.
