post 3 only explains they could not move Kyrie....doesn't mean they could not trade for AD. And I doubt NO would even want Kyrie now with no assurance he'd stay.

...and a ton of money already invested in Jrue, meaning they likely wouldn't invest in Kyrie to stay regardless.

Zublocka is actually playing very good since he's gotten consistent playing time. He might be part of the trade but what you proposed isn't nearly enough.....

It's going to take all 3 plus other pieces and that's not a bad thing at all. AD is 25 and in his prime.

Yup.

IMO, just about every team in the league is going to want to take a swing at AD. They may not have the pieces to make it happen but you never know.

The Trailblazers may be willing to give up Dame.
The Knicks could give up all sorts of stuff.
Of course the Celtics have a ton of assets, although many of them may be as good as people are saying right now.

So much will depend on how far various GMs will go to get him

It will be difficult for the Celtics to make a trade for AD. Not sure what the Lakers could offer but there are several teams I could see get involved in a trade for AD and offer something as good as the Lakers could
Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, and Cedi Osman book it

Nah just kidding, Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston, and Jordan Bell

Times like these I wish the Cavs could dangle Ira Newble in a deal.

Portland with AD and without Lilliard doesn't make sense.....you'd WANT THEM TOGETHER IMO.

The Knicks don't have much of anything to offer.....unless you think their 1st rounder and Hardaway is getting it done.

AD probably won't get dealt before the deadline but this just made the next 10 days a lot more fun.

Portland with McCollum, Nurkic, and AD sounds pretty good.

The Knicks have Knox, Ziggy, and a top 4 pick almost certainly.

To be clear, I have no idea what teams will offer for AD but it will be a lot.

I'm pretty sure there are quite a few teams who can put together a better package than the Lakers if they're willing to accept the fact that AD may not resign in 2 years.

Yeah, it'll be interesting. The Lakers can put together a package that would be perfectly acceptable and not be a ripoff.

However, there are at least 2 or 3 teams who can put together better packages.

The faster it happens, the better chance the Lakers have to get him because it would remove the Celtics from the conversation.

Imo, for it to happen, it would have to happen quickly. Also, Rich Paul will need to do some serious poisoning of the well and put it out there that he will not re-sign with any team not named the Lakers. But as you point out, there may be a team that decides that a season and a half of AD is better than not getting him at all.

It may also depend on the relationship between AD and the Pelicans. If the relationship is similar to KG and Minny when they traded him to the Celtics, that could help as well.

Having said the above, unless the Pelicans just want to move on asap, they have him under contract for 2 more years. So, they can be patient and sit back and wait for the offers to come in.

I believe that the current rumor is pretty much all of the young guys and KCP, plus a couple of future firsts.

You could even argue there are better offers than the LA offer even if they did give up all 3 players: Ball, Ingram and Kuzma. Kuzma is obviously the best player they would give up, but Ingram is way too inconsistent and same with Ball.

In addition, they have Holiday so not sure they need Dame as their biggest need.

Posted this in the other thread.

Davis requesting a trade isn't a surprise.

Wanting it done now excludes the Celtics because they have to include Kyrie.

Hopefully the Lakers aren't stupid enough to do the Low Ball offer thing again.

Lonzo and Ingram are the only guys on the books next year, outside of LeBron, that will make more than 2 mil.

Just give them everyone and have enough room to sign another max guy next summer.

Or, risk the Paul George situation again.
