I say let 'em...

it's a man's right to hate if he wants to...ESPECIALLY if it's clear he's hell bent on making a fool out of himself...

He said he'd take less to stay put. I don't know as that he's said he'd take less someplace else.

He will from others too, but not from the Lakers... His agent knows better than that and surely can see what's going on in the league... and he ain't klutch!

Being contenders? With what team?

You was saying that last season too... remember?

You'll be lucky if you make it to the playoffs with that circus buddy... wake up!

Not a single Lakers fan said they’d be contenders last year.

In fact most said a 2nd round playoff exit at best

I dont think anyone said they are a bust. They got AD. That was the MAIN goal bc you have that star player after Lebron but has been talked about for over a year the plan was another max player so it would be disappointing I’m sure but they can still get a good group around those two and be contenders. You never know anyway, if a star player really like say Kyrie, maybe not him, leaves that much on the table the C’s could give him he could take less to win. Depending on what happens they could still have around $28M.

Yeah, it's kind of interesting. If they clear enough space for a max level guy and fillers, that gives them a trio of stars, but hurts their potential depth.

If they go with 2 or 3 "2nd tier" guys and filler, they don't have the trio of stars, but would have more depth.

I guess I'm just not understanding why we are acting like the Lakers wont work this so they can go above cap

They CAN'T go above the cap... not before they fill at least 13 roster spots and still have the exeptions to do it anyway... It's not a matter of paying lux tax... they aren't allowed to.

His agent doesn’t decide where he goes

that's what I said too, even when they were playing at their best last season...

Even when the Lakers were sitting on the #4 seed and some of the talking heads were saying they'd get to the WCF, most of us were still saying 2nd round exit at best.

I will bet you they find a way to go above the cap. I have no doubt.

If I may join the train here, I said let's get in the playoffs, and try to win a series

Yes... but it won't be enough, nor it will create cap space to be used in free agency... They will be able to reach the lux taxlimit after they resign AD next season... (which is the plan).

It's amazing to me that the addition of AD makes the Lakers favorites to win the West. They should be improved but favorites?

I think the 2nd tier guys is the way to go and I think they should sign these guys to short-term deals if possible. The cap jumps up $9M next season. They could sign a max guy next year possible before they give an extension to AD. They can get 2-4 really nice players with that $28M or so.
