Knicks and Lakers

Will this affect what others teams offer for him now?

Will Boston risk trading Tatum for a possible one year rental?

Nope. We saw this with PG-13 and Kawhi.

To have a top player for a full year, teams will take that risk if they think they can win a title by adding AD

It's talk.

We've already seen that AD and his people are not above trying to manipulate everyone with talk.

And then AD walked back that talk after the last trading window closed.

So... :noidea:

So you think Boston will still offer a package that includes multiple picks and Tatum?

For every PG13 and (probably but not 100%) Kawhi, there's also a Dwight Howard

It should be mentioned that this is yet another kick in the nutz by Davis to the Pelicans.

AD has not come across well at all these past several months.

Taken from the exact same article that speculated on his 2 team preference.

Several teams — including the Celtics — are aggressive about pursuing Davis understanding they would potentially lose him after one season, when he is set to become a free agent. The Celtics want to pursue Davis and believe in their roster with or without Kyrie Irving, league sources said.

Oh no I get it. For a player like AD you offer the entire farm, even if it is for a possible rental.

But news like this could potentially change a lot to what teams will offer.

Idk what they'll offer but all signs point to them making some offer to the pelicans. If it is good enough is another question

Because of the run the Raptors just went on, yes.

There will be a few teams that will go all in.

If the Pelicans don't like those offers, the Knicks have something that only 2 other teams can give them: Zion's Bestie RJ Barrett.

Barrett, Knox, DSJ, Robinson and a pick isn't chop liver.

Plus, he'd be out of the West.

Yeah, the Celtics definitely should be very aggressive. At some point, Ainge has to go all-in for a championship and cash in his chips.

Depends.

I don't think they make an agressive offer if they lose Kyrie.

And I think they will likely lose Kyrie.

^ Right.

This is totally where I'm at, as well.

And the C's have options even if they lose Kyrie. For example, they can go after Mike Conley to fill that slot.

A fab five of Conley / Brown / Hayward / AD / Horford is an instant title contender too.

If that's the case, they are out.

Pelicans prefer to make their own picks on the 20th.

Griffin has offered teams no firm timetable on needing a completed deal, but he has indicated that he prefers the acquisition of 2019 draft picks be completed days prior to the June 20 event in Brooklyn, league sources said. This gives the Pelicans a chance to meet and more closely examine draft candidates slotted in the vicinity of picks potentially traded to New Orleans.

.

I would think the Knicks would wait to see what they get in free agency before they would make a move for AD

It they strike out completely in free agency but trade for AD, they're a 2nd round playoff exit at best.

Rumor had it the Pelicans want to trade before the draft

Why would the Knicks wait?

Having AD on the roster would be the thing that makes their max offer more attractive to the top free agents.

Yeah, how stupid would Ainge look if he keeps hanging on to his assets and doesn't go big in an attempt to get AD? That team would be awesome. He's gotta go for it.

Rumor also has it that the Lakers aren't offering anywhere near what they did before the trade deadline.

Last I heard was something in the line of Ingram, Hart, the 4th pick and a future first rounder.

I’m pretty sure One of Hayward or al has to go in a Conley deal to match salaries.

But the trade machines online aren’t updated yet so I can’t be 100% sure.
