Know the area very well. My son coached is first 3 years at LCM.

Saw a game years ago between the Beaumont school that wear purple (think it's Ozen??) against Vidor.
That was some experience 10 years ago and I thought mt son was crazy to start coaching in that area but it was a great experience for him

That would be Central (more like burgandy than purple)(if it was purple than it wasn't a Beaumont team and was probably PNG I believe they are Purple) and your Son coached at Little Cypress Mauriceville? I was in Houston working on my first BA in Business and didn't get back to the area until a few years later around that time, how did it turn out for him? BTW Imma be in Dallas not next weekend, but the weekend after that, going see a few friends up there that work with the Boys, and depending on a dew other things might even stay for the game against the Texans that Sunday.

He he more negative yards than any running back in history.

I'd rank Smith, Payton, Brown, and Martin all ahead of Barry.

Barry was fun to watch. More of a scat back than a Rb. wasn't worth a shit inside the 10 and couldn't pass block.

And Faulk in no way deserves to be on the list. Maybe if they would have run him more..... but nah there at the end he was more of a receiver than a Rb.

You might could call him the best receiving back of all time. He wasn't a great pass blocker either.
Dickerson, Roger Craig, and SEVERAL others better than Faulk was

and Eddie George? WTF A few good years.... but wayyy far from being in the conversation of great runningbacks.

He ran straight up and killed his career doing it. Had a short career and dn't think he averaged 4yrds a carry the last 3 years of it.

No Payton, or Brown, for starters. Earl Campbell? Sayers? I can understand to a point of elevating guys you actually watched, that's why I put Payton over Brown myself but DAMN. There is no way I could even imagine neither of them being in anybody's top 5.

Besides that I'd surely place Dorsett over 3, 4, 5a, and 5b.

I would say this, best pure Running Backs as far as just running goes I would say would be:

1.) Barry Sanders
2.) AP
3.) Sweetness

Best Overall RB's ever

1.) Sweetness (as complete of a back as there ever will be)
2.) Smith (a complete back but not as great of a runner as Sweetness or he would be 1)
3.) LT (This guy was great, and complete actually thought he would break Smith's record until I realized he was breaking down faster than bread in water)

I think when it is said & done AP will pass LT on your list. (just a thought)

Have to agree on Faulk not being in the higher echelon of rb. Thing you have Sanders way under valued. I think any thing lower than 3 or 4 is crazy. Just my opnion.

He also had an average QB above average OL and the most big plays of any other RB in the league. As a pure runner he has to be #1 overall best complete back don't think he could be #1 but hey just my opinion.

you know I don't think Dickerson was the best ever. But when you start saying top 5 RBs I would think he would atleast be in the conversation. That guy is always overlooked when talking RBs. He had a career avg of like 4.4 or 4.5 yds a carry, & all the rams did back then was yell over to the defense. "Hey we are running Dickerson at you get ready". then hike the ball & hand it off to Dickerson. So if whoever it was that was talking pure "running" backs. he would have to make the top 5 list you would think.

I think he has the ability to, but I'd also put Faulk over him at this point as far as complete backs go, possibly even Brown, he has a ways to go before I do that. I believe he is closer to being ahead of Barry as the best pure runner in the game, this guy is pure magic every time he touches the pill.

Eddie George was added relative to the guys age who made his list that did include most of the greats. Cause he didn't see them play. he's 30 or just under thirty. He said he forgot a guy so in fairness I inserted Eddie Based on his age to so if that is who he believes he forgot.

Top 5 is hard for me, but the guy is surely in the top 10, very special guy and you are right overlooked often.

1.) Sweetness (The most complete back ever, and 2nd most yards ever in nfl history)
2.) Smith (all time record holder for all things RB, and complete back)
3.) Barry (Best pure runner NFL has ever seen)
4.) Brown (9th most rushing yards in NFL history in only 8 Seasons)
5.) LT (Complete back top 5 Rushing Yards all time)

I understand, but I'm only 30 myself. However I have a passion for the game and watch all the greats play, I still watch players like Jordan, Ken Griffey Jr., Barry Sanders, Primetime (my favorite player ever of any sport), over and over and over again, as well as Sweetness, due to the fact these guys were one in a billion and we will never see them again, so I educated myself on their greatness and in return found a respect for it and an understanding of their place in history ;-)

I gotta put Brown higher It was a tougher League 1. 2. not only did he do it in 8 seasons, but in 12 games ea season. 3. he walked away at like 29 I believe. My list goes:

1. Brown
2. Sanders
3. Smith
4. Sweetness
5. Dickerson to edge out Campbell. (so that means LT is probably 7 on my list).

I'd probably have him as my fourth overall. No one tops Barry to me, and the only reason AP is so high with half of his career left is because of what he did last season, and the fact that this guy here is the greatest combo of strength and speed I have ever seen in a player, not just RB, but player period. I have met several top players and he stands out, dude is just a pure freak and I will bet anyone he breaks 2,200 before his career is over in a season, and if anyone in the next 15 years will break E.Smith's record it will be him.
