I promise not to talk about my opinion of Michael Irvin... But I will say I think Aikman was one of the most accurate passers I ever seen...

I can appreciate that...

Bread and butter shouldn't be on the field for all those 3 and outs when ya got a big lead, thats backup time. I guess I just think with the team Emmitt had he should have averaged 5.0 yards a carry more than once in his career.

Hope we are cool, I didnt come here to fight, rather just to talk about a sport I love with some Cowboys fans... I live in Texas and am surrounded by Cowboys fans, just thought it was safe to shoot the shit with y'all...
you do have to realize that with Emmitt never leaving the field. He was in for all the short yardage runs, he was in to run out the clock where everyone knows he is coming. These things effect a YPC a lot more on good teams vs. teams that are always trying to come from behind. So while some act like his ypc should be higher on such a good team I would argue this is why his avg. isn't as high.

BUT... If a team is running out the clock that doesn't always mean the back is getting 2 yards and falling down, alot of times the other team has stopped caring and it could be a time to run up the stats...

Hey Schmoopy you seem like good people, how does one become a Cowboys fan, a Wolverines fan and a Mariners fan?

Well I think that would be more rare than not. Most cases teams end up with 3 & outs when they try & run out the clock. granted you could probably get a cheap TD on a pass when they are all geared to stop the run, but I really don't think RBs running out the clocks help their avg.
You know most cases the team has 9 guys trying to get you to punt, by stopping the run. I wouldn't call those easy yards ever.

when I was a kid I became a Cowboys fan due to my grandma, Roger Staubach, & Randy White. I lived in the bay area so the late 80's were horrible for me LOL. Michigan I liked the team colors at 1st then paid attention to the players as a youngster. remember Jim Harbaugh to Anthony Carter. I never change my favorite sports teams once I get into them. Baseball I never cared about, until the later 90's & at that time I lived up in the seattle area. I liked Jay Buhner & Bret Boone. Still don't take Baseball real serious but of the teams I choose the mariners (kinda like Oakland too)
All the cali college teams fans I dealt with were so arrogant, it kinda turned me off to those teams. Same with ND fans. (although I liked the movie Rudy LOL)
In fact the mariners might be the 1st sports team I became a fan of while living in that teams area. I don't believe in being told who I am suppose to root for.

Oh yeah, the playoff game against the Niners when he went for 10 and 227 in the upset... Damn Darrin Nelson blowing our chance against the skins! Has nothing to do with Harbough, but I always loved AC...

Yeah, I can understand that, Roger and Randy were two of the all time greats, although I hope you understand as a Vikings fan I hated them growing up! Drew Pearson pushed Nate Wright down dammit!!! I actually got into an argument with the manager of a Cowboys merchandise store here in Texas about that play, long story short my wife left the store she was so embarrassed, I told the guy he was an ass hole and left, my poor nephew didn't get a jersey that day! HAHA

LOL actually my favorite WR back then was Tony Hill. he never seemed to get the credit deserved. My friends when we played football at our homes, always said I didn't have to act like him when I tightroped the sidelines to the endzone when they tried to push me out of bounds LOL
Ahh the good ol' days when nothing was serious but everything seemed so serious

Worst troll? Dude I'm really concerned about your mental well being. You have made, by far, the most ridiculous comments in this entire thread. I have done nothing but provide a sound argument to support my positions, You have hurled insults and provided nothing constructive or substantive to this argument. No other board member seems to agree with you on your opinions about me. For you to be so sure of me being a kid and having never watched Sanders play is just downright laughable. Trying to discredit and disqualify my opinion based upon another false proclamation -- of which you have many in this thread -- is pretty childish. I find it very funny that you would call me troll when you are doing nothing but your best imitation of one yourself. I have proved you wrong on numerous occasions and you have yet to disprove anything I have said.

I really don't expect anything less. Your football opinion on the ESPN board was always pretty weak, you always were the board psychopath to boot. i mean who the fuck cyber stalks people and their families because of something said on a football message board.

In short, you're a worthless piece of shit.

Don't expect any apologies

@nosferatu.

You will never get anywhere with your dumbass ignorant statments on this (Dallas Cowboys) board. You're only posting to piss people off and shake things up. Yes, you might piss off some of the others - but most of us real fans see right through your bullshit. Just because (you appear) to be intelligent does not mean that you are not an "attention seeking" goofball. I can only hope that you're trying to troll and do not honestly believe half of the shit that comes out of your mouth. You will NEVER convince a Cowboy fan that the greatest RB in the history of the sport was "nothing special". - switch topic switch topic - yet still the same fucking lame ass remarks (in different words) To quote one of the longtime greats - "onward thru the fog"

nobody here cares about the vikings OR the lions. My only wonder still remains to be - why is an NFC North (teams fan) even looking at the Dallas Cowboys board? America's team indeed.
Strawberry/lime jello-us.

I was listening right up until this... If you honestly believe he's the best riunning back in the history of the NFL you are either an ignorant homer or you've never seen anyone else play. But I will say you sure did make a nice attempt at having a clue.... Try and get my paper a little closer to the door in the morning will ya?

Although you've been kind of a dick I respect your opinion, my opinion is aside from his toughness there was nothing really special about him, you could have put a dozen backs on that team that would have done the same things he did. Remember this is just my opinion. Can you imagine Walter Payton on that team? He would have rushed for 22,000 yards...

How have I been a "Dick" for the most part I have agreed with you to a degree? If me calling you a troll for a statement you made about Smith not being an elite or top 5 heck I don't even believe you see him in the top 10. If me calling b.s. on that I'm not the only one who feels that way. I even agree with you that e's not 1-3, but not to have him at least at number I'd say at worst 7 if absurd IMO. To me and many others it feels like your being a troll on this matter and are looking to pick a fight. As far as Sweetness goes He had a pretty good line himself. I love him he's may favorite all time back by the way. I didn't see Brown play but based on the numbers and the ERA in terms of rules and games played I have to give him the Nod.

If you wanna talk football lets talk football if you wanna make it personal just stay on the Vikings board. If you can honestly say you truly believe the opinion about Smith not being Elite I will move on and respectfully disagree.
