Game Thread: ABC Double Header: Rockets @ Thunder & Bulls @ Cavs

I think the Cavs should win this game. Love has rested a full week- its a home game- and the Cavs can pretty much wrap up the 2nd seed with a win. It will probably be the last game of the regular season that the Cavs really push for a W- as long as they win.

Chicago could still definitely win- they have been playing very good ball lately- especially Mirotic who has given Wiggins a run for his money as ROY- I cannot believe Jimmy Butler averages 38.8 minutes a game. That is just out of this world. PGasol has been playing very solidly lately as well.

The thing I look for in this matchup right off the bat when I watch it is the matchups down low- Love, Mozgov, Thompson v. Noah, Gasol, Gibson.....I want to see how they matchup- who guards who- and which side can get the other in foul trouble. To me- that USUALLY dictates how the game goes between these two- unless LeBron or Kyrie--- or their counterparts- have very hot shooting games.

But me- I really want to see how Mozgov guards Gasol- one game this year he tore up Gasol- the other game he got in foul trouble early and Gasol went off in the 1st quarter and really set the tone. I want to see how Love operates- whether they will try and post him up- or have him on the 3pt line and draw Noah out of the middle.

Its an interesting game because this is likely a 2nd round matchup- and i dont know how much each team will want to tip their hands as to how they will during their likely series together.

Should be fun.

Definitely like the Cavs over Bulls. Houston at OKC is a tougher call, but I'm leaning toward OKC in a narrow win.

I think this is a pretty big game for the Cavs. Beating the Bulls would push them well into the 4th spot. Losing to them would pull them well into the 3 spot.

Whether the Bulls end up 3 or 4 determines whether the Hawks or Cavs will have to face the Bulls in the 2nd round.

They would have 1 less L than Toronto still and they swept the season series so in reality even if the Cavs win today, the Bulls would still be 2 games up on Toronto for 4th due to the TB

You're right... I was looking at a seed probability site that hadn't updated since Raptors loss last night.

Still very much in the air... but the Bulls would still have the upper hand even losing today.

A win by the Bulls however... would give them even a bigger edge than I was thinking at the 3 seed.


Bulls have a tougher schedule left... But the Hawks will probably be resting everyone in that final game.

Yep. Morrow's shooting and fouling Darcey gave them a little lift in the third. Would help them if Adams could play at least a minute in the fourth without picking up his fifth foul. Also figure to see Westbrook on Harden quite a bit in the fourth.
