So I'm look at the teams entering the playoffs and I've noticed that there are quite a few that have never held the Lombardi:

The Bengals. (Will host a WC game)

The Eagles (Assuming they beat Dallas, will host a WC game)

The Panthers made the post season and can wrap their division Sunday with a win, thus hosting a playoff game

The Seahawks - arguably the best team in the NFC. They win they've got the #1 seed

The Chargers. OK, for them to get in they need a lot of help but they've yet to win a Lombardi.

(For those that don't know, the Chiefs won a SB in 1969).

That's 5 out of 12 teams, almost half the teams in the post season.

Will we have a team win the Lombardi for the first time this year? The odds on it are almost 50-50.

i will not count out any team from winning it all once the playoffs start so it appears there is a fair chance of a first time champ this season.

Broncos haven't won a SB in long enough that they would be nearly virgin champions. They really need to get some!

If the 9ers don't make it to the dance I will hope that a team without a Lombardi will get one......even if it has to be the Hawks.

How did RW get so tall? Anyway ,living here in Pats and Giants land I have had to put up with ribbing not just about being a 9ers fan but about the NFC West. "The 9ers wouldn't have won so many games if that division wasn't so shitty" ,etc. If not the 9ers, I want any NFC West team to win the SB for the rest of the decade. JMO

Team NFCW! I'm just messing with you and I agree. I would have inner-turmoil if it were the Hawks but in the long run, I'd be happy for the division.

Yup. They owned the Boston Patriots by 41 points I think.

Still, we're discussing SB titles and they've never won one. The've been there, getting owned by the 49er's.

Back in 1963 in the AFL I think. That is Grandma virgin territory....Welcome! Many teams haven't won a SB or Championship in a long time. I don't feel the Chargers will make it this year.

If the Hawks win the SB I will probably be ill for a week or so but I will soldier up for the cause! :suds:

It might be a surprise to all of you, but I would be really happy withe the Patriots winning another Superbowl.
Not predicting it but happy to be still in the running.....

Um, what does this response have to do with teams that might win their FIRST SB?

I wouldn't count out the Pats to be in the SB for sure ,but they are not virgins. I believe that they have been poked in every orifice repeatedly...every year since BB took over.

Except the title of your thread says champion not Super bowl champion. The Eagles also have 3 NFL championships before the Super bowl era.

Thank you.

Now...why would I list teams that have won championships and call them virgins?

Because I was talking about SB's.
