Our history carries a lot of weight especially statistically.
Funny how the close of a season changes peoples' minds. There are several venues reporting that Ed Davis wants to stay with the Lakers even though he is going to opt out of his contract. I take this to mean he wants more money to stay with the Lakers. In several articles he mentioned how much the hard and brutal work habits of a 19-year vet like Kobe woke him up and he wants to work with Nash this summer to develop a mid-range jumpshot and get better at the FT line. Perhaps the Lakers will oblige him.
That is one thing this team does have-chemistry. Everyone likes being around everyone else except for maybe Swaggy and B. Scott. But even those two are in kahootz with everyone else. I'd like to see Ed Davis come back a better player and some of the others too to continue what has been developed this year. We shall see what transpires in the coming weeks.

Davis is one of the players Scott likes, or would have in his foxhole. I always figured that the Lakers would be in play to resign him when he opts out of his current contract. I just don't know what the market will be for him. The Lakers might not be able to afford him if they end up landed a max contract guy.
If he gets over the mid-level, which is what, 7ish mil per year, I'd consider letting him walk. And if its up around 10, I'm definitely letting him walk. He's decent, and could be a servicable starter if you absolutely had studs elsewhere in your starting line up, but he's not skilled enough to warrant real cash. He's good as a screener but can't hit shit unless he's actually dunking off that screen. He's ok defensively, but not great. Somewhere between average to good. His value is somewhere between 3 and 7 mil. He'll definitely test the market since his numbers got a boost from being on a poor team so maybe a franchise will bite and overpay.
This is a little off the beaten path but it looks like we will pick 27th in the first round as the Rockets and Clippers finishing order has been decided. We will have to wait until May 19th to find out if we keep our top five pick in the first round and where we will be picking. We will not be getting the Clippers' second round pick as that will be going to Denver. Right now, we will be picking 27th, our own 34th pick (second round), and we have to wait see what happens to that top five pick. Here's the link from the LA Times.

I'm going to tell you now, the Lakers will be getting Rondo and another big name FA this summer. On top of the 4th pick in the draft.
Oh please no. Rondo is garbage and a cancer. Have you watched him play recently? You couldn't much last night seeing as he got benched early.
