His comments don't seem bad at all. He's absolutely right when he says that Orlando had a good core that could have gotten back to the finals. It's human nature to wonder what "might have been."

He has also expressed some of the same feelings re: leaving the Lakers and said he would likely have at least 2-3 more rings if he had stayed in L.A.

Well, he didn't have much of choice in LA. Dr. Buss traded him after he asked for a raise.

Shaq getting impatient with the negotiations and publicly disrespecting Dr. Buss (who always treated players with respect) is what got him traded.

His explanation that he "got hurt on company time, so I'll rehab on company time" to defend not getting his surgery during the summer had him on thin ice before he called out Dr. Buss to "pay me" in a preseason game.

As dominant as Shaq could be, he didn't want to work very hard.

The Lakers waived Steve Nash today. No surprise since he retired but they had to to then sign Jabari Brown for the remainder of the season. I suppose Brown has earned his spot for this year and an invite for next. On a collateral note. Dirk Nowitzke announced his retirement today. I don't think it is an April Fools joke and I don't know if he is going to finish out the season.

Byron with some harsh words yesterday for the players he wouldn't want alongside him in the foxhole. I think Young's time here is very precarious.

Yea, I think it's safe to state that Young's Swaggy act is beginning to wear fairly thin on B. Scott. As you've have stated lakersrule, his time here is indeed precarious at best.

They're gonna have to buy him out. His contract was for 4 years (which I never understood and was stupid to begin with). No team will trade for him. He ain't even worth a 2nd round pick on a deal like that. They're gonna have to get some GM drunk and get him to sign the paper without realizing what he's agreeing to. You know, how the Lakers got Pau Gasol from Memphis.

It should be.

Have Jeanie do a pole dance too. Just to seal the deal.

There is a typo in my OP. Should be "aren't" not are. Yea. You have to take into account the venue, lakersrule. Often weak and full of heresay you are not going to get much from Yahoo Sports. Perhaps I should cease from posting links from that venue.

Not really much evidence presented there by Barnes.

I think that article is just a tease for a larger piece coming later. They mentioned in the article that a couple of those quotes are from a larger interview so maybe more is touched on there.

Yeah, if wildturkey is right, it'll be interesting to see what his reasoning is.

And again, this is a tad bit off the beaten path and I don't want to start another thread but in case you don't have much of an idea how good the Lakers really are, this article, which is well-written, is chocked full of info that indicates the extent of the domination of the Lakers franchise over the years even though the Celtics have one more championship. Here's the link.

The Lakers' history still counts when it comes to free agency.

When players look up into the rafters, would they rather have their jersey retired next to, and amongst Kareem, Wilt, Magic and Shaq, or next to players like Bob Gross, Bingo Smith or Doug Moe?
