17 runs on a six game home stand is not good and when you throw in that 13 of them came in the first game it gets worse.

They picked a bad time to go in it too.

Agreed. Tanaka did his job. Will be pretty sad to get swept by the Jays when we only allowed 2 runs in 2 of the 3 games

For sure. Disappointed big time in the offense. Bright spot is that we were able to contain the Jays offense for the most part
That was the first time since the trade that the offense hasn't been dominant.

Both teams did strand a lot of runners, though.

Jays pitching is a lot better than people give it credit for. It isn't great, but it's very serviceable. Just like the 2013 Red Sox.

You have to give some credit to the Jays pitching, but how much? Is it a team slump on the part of the Yankees hitters (4 runs in 5 days over two teams) or was it the Jays pitching?

I have to think it was about 65% team slump and 35% Jays pitching.

If the Yanks don't win tonight Jays will only be a half game out.

Bases loaded for Headley in the 10th with 2 outs

2 run single by Headley. The Yanks have now matched their run total from their previous 5 games

Amazing how one of the best offensive teams in baseball (in terms of run production) can go roughly a week without scoring more than 1 or 2 runs in every game except one.....does not make sense

Ellsbury's looked awful since coming off the DL. And while the Tex/A-Rod comeback years have been fun to watch, I think there needs to be some caution around them given their ages.
