Im thinking maybe. Unless Avila or Halladay gets dinged up, Victor forced into the backup spot for a week. But without an injury(Torii) Kelly days as insurance policy at 5-6 spots might be over. JD's awful defense and sporadic power might stick around. Maybe. I've thought Don was done quite a few times before.

Kelly brings more to the table in defense and versatility, but after a decent start, he's fallen right back to his career BA of .230. Yeah, JD is a butcher in the field, but it's hard to ignore his HR power, which is sorely needed somewhere in the 6-9 spots of the Tiger order.

He hasn't hit the ball sharply for awhile. And Castellanos has had a sneaky good month, third is the spot where his D is most important IMO. Dirks returning would replace his D in the OF. It'll be interesting to see how it shakes out if nobody gets hurt between now and when Andy is ready. I doubt Ausmus wants to give up the options Kelly brings, but JDs bat has to have won him some time. In the lineup and off the bench. (Hunter hitting the DL would be ideal.)

Wasn't a move that was made for June of 2014. And Fister didn't pitch for a decent chunk of time. But you told yourself it was horrible when it happened, so not much use in me telling you otherwise. Fister is a piece, he's not a focal point. Never was, never will be. (Lombardozzi has years ahead of him. Gonzalez is done. He did Win a couple games, like opening Day, but if you don't see the waste in that trade I don't know what to tell you.)

I said it was horrible when it happened and now again 70 games into the season based on more statistics. I have now said it twice.

So you are saying you think that it was a good deal?
Krol = over a 3 era who is letting RH batters hit over .300 against him and Ray "might" have something over Fister and his numbers to this point in the season including an incredible k to walk ratio.

Lombardozzi/Gonzalez trade was nothing, before Iglesias got hurt the Tigers were planning on getting .220 to .250 with no power from the SS anyway. You can put any SS in Detroits lineup and get the offense that they were planning on. Do I think Lombardozzi is better offensively than Gonzalez, of course, Gonzo is what 40 or 45 yr old, lol..? Everyone in baseball believes Gonzalez's defense was better than Lombardozzi though.

I haven't paid any attention to raw numbers of players involved. It doesn't sway my opinion one way or the other.(Probably wont for quite some time. Wasn't a move to push the roster over the hump. It was a long term move.) Krol filled a very bad void. He's done well in his role. And he's the only lefty in the pen with an ERA under 6.50. What Rays stats are makes not a bit of difference. It's June, he's in the minors. Which is where he should be, since he needs to pitch and work on his breaking ball and change. (Lombardozzi would have brought versatility on the defensive side. Romine can't hit and his just a back up SS. He's wasting a roster spot in comparison to what SL would have brought.). But since it was a horrible move in the winter, it's a horrible move in June.... Got it.

Alright, hoping the Royals can match 14 (I think) from 1994. A shame that season was cut down due to silliness. 16 is the team record. I highly doubt they get that far, in fact, I am expecting an L tomorrow, but why not look at it this point.

10 straight is a helluva run. 14-16 prolly won't happen, but it's not that far off now. (I have Ventura and Vargas both going again in roto, so I hope it gets to 14... Or starts over with your JV, either way.)

Whoever wins that division, just beat the shit out of Oakland for us Ranger fans...we're pretty much fielding a AAA/AA team, we need ya.

Really? Gee hadn't noticed.

That's what happens when you lose half the effing team, some of them forever.
real funny eh?

what's the Yankee excuse?

I am surprised they have won as many as they have with all the crap they have dealt with. That farm is deep...

Oh bologna, the Yankees have 3 starters on the shelf and they're making it work with no excuses.

Like the Rangers, the Yankees fielded a triple A team last season. One year ago today they were 7 games over .500

Good teams find ways to win. Perhaps the Power Rangers just don't care. Maybe that explains why Ryan left..

No worries. The A's and Yankees have basically been byes in the playoffs for the last decade.

The 2014 Rangers have had an even more extreme rash of injuries.

This... at least the Yanks had *some* stability in the rotation (4 of their 5 starts made 29+ starts, Nova made 20 and Phelps made 12). There's only two Rangers pitchers with a shot at making that many starts (Darvish and Lewis). Rangers have already had 10 different starting pitchers. Hell, Kevin Kouzmanoff is getting playing time.

The Yankees for the 2nd year in a row are buzy with a farewell tour, please don't bother them, unless you have a gift you wish to give.
