Dirks is actually one of the better defensive Left Fielders.. Look it up! I think he has the ability to be a legit regular but he never puts it together..

Dirks is actually one of the better defensive Left Fielders.. Look it up! I think he has the ability to be a legit regular but he never puts it together..

He's a good defender, no doubt. He's just not much of a hitter. Jackson's offense can be a bit underwhelming, but it's better. And he's a pretty good defender at a more demanding position. Dirks' 2012 seems like an outlier. He's not a bad player by any means though. I expect Jackson's BA to improve. His BABIP is well below his career numbers and he's been cutting down on the K's (only 16.2% strikeouts this year, was 27.1% in 2011).

I'm not doubting that Jackson is way more valuable to a team due to his better offense and above average defense at a premier defensive position as opposed to Dirks.. Just stating that Dirks is not complete garbage like some people(*cough* Smitty) suggests.

Really sorry to hear that, my mother suffered multiple strokes before passing away in March of this year.

Not everyone is.
