The Rockie fans over there were homers of epic proportions.

I'll never forget the time DinoRomanelli tried to bash Holliday (after he'd been traded of course) by saying that he wasn't trying and didn't care in his last season with the Rockies because he "saw it in Holiday's eyes whenever he'd bat."

There was also really stupid heated debate I got into with a couple of them where some Rockie fans tried to argue Garrett Atkins was better than David Wright.

Lmfao. I remember that.

Royals only .5 game up now. They should be pretty worried that they haven't distanced themselves at all.

Yeah, pretty much. It is 1 full game, the teams are even in wins, and the Royals have 2 games in hand -- but one is a loss unless they can score at least 2 runs in the make-up half-inning vs. CLE. Let's hope Cleveland doesn't throw Josh Tomlin out there for that outing. LOL

Yeah that's why I counted it as .5 game.

Better to assume impending doom in a 1 inning game then provide false hope lol.

Yeah, if Francona puts Tomlin or some scuffling rookie on the hill for that, I'm gonna be PISSED.

worried? the royals weren't even suppose to be in it for the Division title...they are worried about Yost/Lost's love affair with Raul Ibanez.

True. Back in March, I predicted the Tigers would win 90 games. If they go 13-9 the rest of the way, they are right at 90. But I also predicted that would be enough for them to win the ALC. So if the Royals win 92 and beat out Detroit by a couple of games, it's more about the Royals coming into their own and exceeding expectations than it is about a Tiger collapse.

You guys have had very healthy pitching staff this year. This late is surely not the time for issues.

Not sure if closing disrupts Wade's mojo or not?

Yost seems pretty concerned about Holland's workload for the past month going back to the last Twins series in Minnesota, this might have been going on for months is my guess. Everyone at this point has Knicks and bruises, this might be one we are just finding out about with Holland.

I would hope not regarding Davis melting in the 9th. It's always in the back of my mind as intangibles are just that, intangible and frustratingly pliable. Or in English, everyone reacts differently to the opportunity. I would assume his talent, as a reliever at least, is plenty enough to close.

I went with 91, same as I guessed last year.

But..... I think I said 82 for KC.

Im confident one of those will be close.

What do you mean weren't supposed to be in it? We hear every year this is the year. Everyone thought the same coming into this year the way they finished last year.

They were very much expected to compete for the playoffs. Sure, some thought the tigers would have a way better record but the royals were thought to compete.

Outside of Steamer (89 wins predicted) and maybe Zips(86 wins predicted), there wasn't a ton of optimism the Royals contend for the division unless the Tigers piss down their legs. The fans of course were optimistic they can beat said projections (at least the ones privy to them- others just say 90 wins en sech), but obviously they (and myself) are fans. This season is essentially a roll of two six sided dice coming up as a 10. (Can't say a 12 with the Butler and Hosmer situation).

Of course there is the usual hype crew, but it was far from everyone hyping the Royals, and there was a very, very stiff counterwind as well. Take prospectus for example which projected KC to win 78 games.

WC though was a must, at minimum, however simply because Dayton Moore has been hiding behind "the process" for far too long. Results are demanded at some point. Put up or shutup and gtfo- so far it has been put up for Mr. Moore this season.

Then again... Zips and Steamer, etc might be better viewed as a median projection rather than as a prediction.

You may have been confused by my post which is understandable since you are an extreme tigers hater.

There were reasons to be optimistic about the Sox last year. As bad as they were last year, they did underachieve their pythag by 5 games. Not only that, but they had undergone a roster overhaul, revamping their offense. In fact, PECOTA had projected the Sox to go 86-76.

Can't really find their 2013 ZiPS/Steamer projections. Just about everything that could right for them did and they won the WS.
