a pointless trade? no way. The royals have been better and definately better pitching since that trade and just keeping Myers and having no pitching would have been exactly like when Beltran, Dye, Damon and Sweeney were in KC and we just would have lost them all too. Now that we have Vargas, Duffy, Ventura ready to go for next season, he was able to build up a staff. Binford, Manea, Almonte, etc are another 2 years closer now too.

I would love for KC to trade Holland, let Davis close or vise versa for Van Slyke that would seal that the myers/shields trade was definately worth it. Don't think he is going to trade Shields, but wish he would, for a power bat, not just get a sup 1st rounder.

Already talking about next season eh?

ok, you won't believe this one. My brother goes to the Royals/Twins game tonight with my cousins and 4 kids. This is the one I got for christmas a royals jersey with "Player to be named later" on the back of it.

Well, I just saw a replay of it on FSN, didn't see it live. Minn, hits a home run to left field. It bounces off my brothers nose and my cousin catches it. He was taken back to be checked out and they gave him a ball too.

Used to go to the games and know where every ball was at all times, the older you get, you just don't pay attention but think you do.

If theo epstein gets anything good out of trading Emilio Bonifucio, I will almost jump off the Dayton Moore bandwagon. Not only was I against the Royals getting rid of him, then they just dropped him and we got nothing...well no prospects to go with the almost 3 times as costly 2b with less production...

holy good gawd, just read the "Royals or the Giants"....we need a bat with pop, So lets think about a guy we dumped, giving up some players for, while we just called up a utility guy, and we have Dyson and Cain covering the OF with wheels both batting .300. So would play in front of Infante, don't tell me he is, or I will lose my mind.


I said getting rid of Boni for Infante and the huge price difference was a horrible idea and would be Daytons worst move, if he trades FOR him...Dayton is officially an idiot, of course if he turned around and dealt Infante, then I would at least respect him for fixing his mistake.

bottom line; My jaw dropped when I read the Royals were top 2 for Emilio.

Honestly, Ian Kennedy replacing Guthrie is probably a bigger upgrade than a Byrd, Rios, etc.

it fixes the Fister mistake but ends up hurting the postseason bullpen a bit with lefty Smyly gone. Jackkkson won't hurt a bit, might actually help.
